Hi! I am wondering if you are planning to include a service to get the gear's components and if yes when is the deadline?

Thanks in advanced,

Hi,

We support bikes and shoes http://strava.github.io/api/v3/gear/.  We do not have any plans to add other gear components to the api.

I made a web application to get assign usage to the bike components using your Strava data.

http://cycle-fyi.parseapp.com/

Maybe it will help you.

I am currently developing an alexa app that needs to use the components as well.
As of Feb. 2017 ... are you planning on adding this feature to the API any time soon?
Thanks,
Wes

Ok... here is what I came up with...
you have an ID of a bike ...
You want to track gear on it.
So..
use firebase.js to store the GEAR ID and then associate an array of components in firebase (which is just a JavaScript object anyways) ...
you will have to call the strava API to get the GEAR, then make a call to your firebase with the ID and get back your components. I
You will have to manage the components yourself but at least it's something.
