The email accused me of negligence in this matter, without a prior visit to ascertain the root cause. Subsequently, Mr. Somantah and a member of the plumbing team inspected my flat and confirmed that the issue stemmed from the main pipe system of the balcony, not from any fault on my part. I have urged Mr. Somanth to address the issue promptly as it is causing damage to my wall, furniture, and electronic devices. However, I have yet to receive a response from your end. Today, I have verbally reiterated my complaint to Mr. Somanath and have sent an official email urging for immediate measures, considering that the issue pertains to a common space or facility. I have also attached some photographs for your reference. I anticipate a prompt response to this matter.Rgd/-Biswajit MaityAlps 110On Thu, 23 May 2024 at 12:32, Siddha Town Helpdesk <siddhatownraj...@gmail.com> wrote:Dear Sir,

Dear Facility Team,
In continuation of my trailing email, I request you to kindly take up the rectification work on an urgent basis to prevent further damage to the balcony-side wall of my flat due to continuous seepage from the common drainage duct.
Despite your earlier intervention, for which I also bore a part of the cost, the root cause of the seepage has unfortunately remained unresolved. As a result, the condition of the wall continues to deteriorate.
As we do not reside in the flat regularly due to professional commitments and are available only until 12th July 2026, I would appreciate it if the necessary repair work could be completed within this period.
Your prompt attention and necessary action will be highly appreciated. Please find attached pictures pertaining to damaged walls and earlier rectification work.

Dear Team,
This is to inform you and request your urgent intervention regarding a serious seepage issue in my flat. Black water and greywater are seeping from the upstairs flat (Alps 210) into my common bathroom, causing damage to the wooden loft and other fixtures.
As we do not reside in the flat on a regular basis and will be available only until 12th July 2026, I kindly request you to inspect the issue and take the necessary corrective action at the earliest.
I am sharing photographs of the affected area for your reference and better understanding of the issue.
Your prompt attention and necessary action in this matter will be highly appreciated.
Dear Sir,
Our team is continuously following up with the owner of Flat AL210 to have the issue repaired as a matter of urgency.
We would also like to request the owner of Alps-210 once again to carry out the necessary rectification work in the toilet area at the earliest. The owner of Alps-110 has been suffering from a seepage issue for a long time due to this problem.
Your immediate attention and prompt action on this matter will be highly appreciated.
Dear Sir,
As inspected, the repair work needs to be carried out from both flats.
Kindly make the necessary arrangements to ensure the work can be completed successfully.
Thank you.

Dear Facility Team,
Thank you for your support and prompt response in addressing the issue.
However, I would like to express my concern regarding the proposed solution. Personally, I am not fully convinced that re-plastering the damaged portion alone, without first identifying and rectifying the source of the leakage from the drainpipe, will provide a permanent resolution. Nevertheless, I respect your technical expertise and am willing to proceed with your suggested approach.
My only concern is that if the root cause is not addressed, the damage may recur, rendering the repair ineffective and causing the same inconvenience again. I sincerely hope that the solution being implemented has taken this aspect into consideration and will resolve the issue permanently.
Thank you once again for your assistance and support.

Dear Facility Manager,
Thank you for personally inspecting the site and witnessing the severity of the leakage. As observed during the inspection, not only is grey water leaking through the bathroom ceiling, but, more seriously, black water from the sanitary drain line is seeping through the ceiling of my common bathroom. This has caused substantial damage to my wooden loft and has also created an unhygienic and potentially hazardous living condition.
I would like to categorically clarify that this leakage/seepage came to our notice only a few months ago and not 2–3 years earlier, as has been indicated. Since the flat is not occupied on a regular basis, the issue could not have been detected earlier. The defect appears to have originated from the common plumbing/sanitary system, which is entirely beyond my ownership, control, or maintenance responsibilities. Therefore, I cannot accept any implication of negligence or any financial liability on my part for rectification of the source of the leakage.
As a responsible resident who has consistently paid all society maintenance charges on time, I expect the Facility Management Team, as the designated technical and maintenance authority, to take prompt action to identify the root cause and ensure a permanent resolution rather than a temporary repair. Any repair undertaken without rectifying the source of the leakage is unlikely to prevent recurrence and may result in further damage to my property.
If the management believes that any support, coordination, or financial contribution is required from any party, I request that the same be communicated to me in writing, clearly stating the technical basis, applicable society rules, and the rationale for such a requirement. This will help avoid any misunderstanding and facilitate a transparent resolution.
As I am scheduled to leave on 12 July, I earnestly request you to treat this matter as urgent and initiate the necessary corrective measures immediately to prevent further damage to my property. I assure you of my full cooperation in providing access to the flat or extending any legitimate assistance required for timely completion of the work.
I trust the management will appreciate the seriousness of this matter and take appropriate action at the earliest.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Srabanti Maity Sarkar
