I was sad that Eric Lee wasn't at the Strangelings show in Tunbridge
VT. So when I heard that he was playing in Northampton, and I could
go, I went!
It was a benefit for the Northampton Survival Center at the Sierra
Grille in Northampton called Holiday Hoedown. This event featured all
NoHo area local bands playing holiday themed songs.
The bands were Bourgeois Heroes, Trials and Tribulations, Teacher,
Azwan, Sitting Next to Brian, Metal Dreamzzz, Ella Longpre, World's
Greatest Dad, Los Hijos Unicos, Reverend Dan & the Snake Handlers,
Bunwinkie, Bare Teeth, and Thrillpillow.
School For the Dead didn't play, but I saw most of the members of that
band there. The place was packed!
Eric played in 2 different bands, Metal Dreamzzz and World's Greatest
Dad. The 2 songs Metal Dreamzzz played were Eric Lee original songs,
the 2 songs played by World's Greatest Dad were covers.
This was my first time seeing Eric sing and play guitar in a band,
since up till now I'd only ever seen him play fiddle with the
Strangelings.
Here's what Eric played with Metal Dreamzzz --
Happy Proper Christmas
Happy Christmas Pony (I'm the Best)
With World's Greatest Dad --
Happy Christmas (War Is Over)
Little Drummer Boy (w/ Lord Russ as David Bowie)
