PJN w/ We're About 9 and Anthony da Costa for a GREAT cause!

I'm very excited to announce that my band Pesky J. Nixon will be
playing the 3rd Annual SAMFund Celebration of Life on Saturday,
October 18th at 4pm at the Bell In Hand Tavern in Boston. We will be
sharing the stage with two fantastic artists, Anthony da Costa and
We're About 9, as well as special guest Eric Lee. If you haven't heard
these folks before, I'll gently suggest that you do your ears a favor
and check the artists out.


My good friend Samantha Eisenstein started the SAMFund (Surviving and
Moving Forward) 5 years ago after surviving cancer twice and seeing
the difficulties young adults had financially after going through such
an experience. In three years of giving grants and scholarships, the
SAMFund has given away more than $250,000. The Celebration of Life is
one of the SAMFund's bigger Boston-area events all year, and is always
a very special night. There are silent auctions and raffles for
awesome prizes (Red Sox & Patriots memorabilia & tickets, artwork and
the like), and this year's entertainment is going to be a real treat.


Of particular note is that this year's event is going specifically to
benefit the Andrea Coller Memorial Award. Andrea was a good friend and
frequent performance partner of Pesky J. Nixon ... if you came to this
event last year at the Paradise Lounge, she performed her own set as
well as performed with PJN on a number of songs. Andrea was a 4-time
cancer survivor but died this past April 30 of complications from the
cancer. All proceeds from this year's event are going directly to the
award in Andrea's name, and the eventual recipient will be decided in
part by her family.
