Practical workshops of urban gardening this week end (saturday15 and sunday16th of november) organised by the Association OstraNula and the Heinrich Böll Stiftung.

Workshops are from the Flower Bišćević Association Parkticipacija (https://www.facebook.com/ParKticipacija) and WINS (Green Network activist groups) and Stephen Kovacevic of the Association victories.

The workshops are divided into three parts:

1. Workshop about home composting --- Saturday from 11 to 13h
2. Workshop "how to make flower beds without digging" - Saturday from 14 to 16h
3. Workshop urban gardening - planting seedlings and sowing --- Sunday from 11 to 15h

For all workshops are recommended carrying a notebook or organizer where you can write whatever you feel important.

Important Note: although the material for all workshops provided by the organizers, some of the materials needed to collect so it is recommended that participants bring with them to the workshop. A more detailed list of required material is in the description of the workshop.

Home Composting Workshop

Start: Saturday at 11 am
Duration: about two hours

During this workshop, participants will learn how to mimic the natural conditions of degradation biooptada through the composting process, the role of compost in the cycling of nutrients in an ecosystem, in order to produce high quality compost and what is its role in organic food production
At the workshop we will make a home composter that allows for disposal of kitchen biowaste on the spot - at home or on the balcony.
Also, we will make the simple composter for disposal of organic material from the garden.

Workshop preparation of flower beds without digging

Start: Saturday at 14 pm
Duration: about two hours

During this workshop we will show participants how to prepare the soil for planting without digging (dimensions 1x2-3m), and how to sow and plant directly into the prepared patch, which greatly simplifies the spring planting and other maintenance
Participants will learn how to easily prepare the soil for planting and what you can plant them in autumn / winter.

Workshop urban gardening - planting seedlings and sowing

Start: Sunday at 11 am
Duration: about four hours


During this workshop we will learn how to establish a small vegetable garden in the urban environment - how to utilize the available space for sowing and planting, how to recycle containers, and how to make a mini-greenhouse and samonavodnjavajuću patch. We'll learn some tricks that make it easier to grow food in containers, which directly sown and transplanted it and when, which are good and which are bad neighbors and how to continue to care for plants.

What should you bring?
cardboard
foliage
cartons, yogurt cups, toilet paper tubes, plastic containers and the like.
