Strada does Amsterdam - more details

Allright gents, the organizing committee has met yet again and has cooked up quite the program!

Right now we have: Jeroen +1, Ranadip +1, Rutger +1, James
Tero probably (already confirmed?) and Marcus unlikely.

Program:

• Friday night dinner in De Jordaan - one of the oldest and most beautiful parts of Amsterdam
  
  
• Saturday meet up at 11.00 for a grand tour de canals on Jeroen's yacht. This will include some of Holland's finest waterways outside of the canals as well so you get a feel for the real Holland (think windmills etc). We'll have lunch on the boat
  
  
• Back on shore around 16.00 - time to freshen up at your hotel
  
  
• 19.00 dinner in the red light district
  
  
• Few more drinks....
  
  
• Sunday we will leave up to you for some sightseeing and dare I say it perhaps some culture in one of Amsterdam's many museums. Happy to provide some suggestions.

Who is flying in when? Have you guys already booked hotels?
The College Hotel is around the corner from where we live and quite nice. But think it might be pricey. More affordable stuff can be found around the Vondelpark. Also this place is close to where we live and the area is nice. No idea what the hotel is look (2 star so might be hit and miss). Can also book on the canals but wouldn't recommend really booking in the tourist areas/red light district etc.

What time do you and the rest get in on Friday?

I am looking at tickets. What time do you plan to go for dinner and how long does that take from the airport? I will accordingly make the bookings.

What about Tero and James? When are you guys planning to leave? I am looking at flights from city airport as I will be leaving directly from Canary Wharf.

Just done flight and hotel. However I will miss the dinner. Can't escape early enough to make it to Friday dinner. I will be in Amsterdam by 9:30am on Saturday and see you guys for the yacht cruise.

My flights are booked as well, I'm similar to Ranadadip and could only make it out for Saturday morning. I land at 10am.

No idea where i'll stay as yet - probably passed out on the boat!

Okay, so I can drive out to the airport Saturday morning and pick you guys up as you arrive between 09.30/10.00.

You can drop your stuff at my place and then we'll walk over to where we've booked lunch. Figured given that we're expecting a bit of rain on Saturday we will first do lunch and then from the lunch place which is on the water hop on Jeroen's boat.  

Ranadip where is your hotel? You can also drop your stuff off at the hotel first but depending on where it is it might be easier to just leave them at mine. 

James has gone for the spare bed in my place which includes the free 6am wake up call by two twins who have been practicing shouting 'one two three blast off' for the last few weeks :)
