There is some confusion about how Google Groups operate, and I hope
this message will clarify some of those issues.

EMAILS:

Every time a message is posted, most of you will receive an email with
that message. This is far and away the best way to communicate with
this group.

But if you want to change that, go to the home page for this group,
and click on "edit my membership" for your options.

HOME PAGE FOR THIS GROUP:

http://groups.google.com/group/stpdog

REPLIES:

If you receive a regular email from this group, and you hit "reply,"
your response will be sent to EVERYBODY in this group.

BE CAREFUL -- If you don't want your reply broadcast to the entire
group.

PRIVATE REPLIES:

If you want to reply "privately" to the poster (so no one else in the
group receives your response), you must do two things:

1) Hit "reply," then copy/paste the poster's email address in your
"To" line. Try it and you'll see that the poster's email address is
very obvious.

BTW -- email addresses are ONLY visible to members of this group. So
you don't have to worry about spamers trolling these groups for email
addresses.

2) Delete the group email address in the "To" line
(stp...@googlegroups.com).

CHANGING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS

If you want to use another email address to communicate with this
group, simply go to the home page and hit the "edit my membership"
link on the right.

REAL NAMES? You can also add your real name when you edit your
membership. This is highly recommended, since it makes communication a
lot easier and more friendly.

UNSUBSCRIBE

If you no longer want to participate in this group, simply click on
the "unsubscribe" link that appears at the bottom of every email from
the group.

Google will instantly delete your name from the group.

If you have any other questions or problems, you can email me directly
at <car...@comcast.net>

For those that want to contact Jan personally without replying to all, the link below leads to a page that has a link to contact the owner directly.

In the meantime, here is the issue or cause of the reply all. It's automatic.

Best to all,

K

I also just changed the reply function to this group. You can now choose to reply to the sender or reply to all. Should make that easier.
