Important Notice: Baptisms and Confirmations

Dear friends,

We are having the privilege of a visit from Bishop Andy Doyle on Sunday, August 29th at the 10:30 am service. This is the opportunity for us to have baptisms, receptions and confirmations in a special celebration.

If you or your children would like to be baptized, please reply to this e-mail right away so we can get the process going.

Confirmation is for those age 12 or older who would like to be presented to the bishop with the laying on of hands. This makes one a full member in the Episcopal Church. If you are interested, again, please reply as soon as possible.

Reception is for those who were confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church or some other denominations. This also brings full membership into the Episcopal Church.

For your convenience, I am attaching a PDF file of the forms: One page for baptisms, the other for Confirmations and Receptions. You can print these, fill them out, and get them to the office as soon as possible. It is very important that we have the information so we can process the paperwork and prepare certificates and entries into our official records for the bishop's signature.

Normally, we have classes of preparation before baptisms and confirmations, but the timing of the bishop's visit made it difficult to prepare a formal class series during the summer. For those who are looking to be baptized or confirmed, I would like to have a gathering on this Sunday at 9:15 a.m. in the parish hall to go over these things and to answer any questions you may have. If you can come to this, it would be quite helpful.
