So, can I get some views of what people seen when I took the hit Saturday morning?
Do you think that’s an appropriate play for a rec pick up Basketball?
Do you want to play being able to initiate contact and if so, how much contact is enough and too much?
It’s five days later and I’m just able now to put my arms straight with minimal pain.
The ride home was excruciating pain in my shoulder and arm.
I’ve witnessed this person at two other gyms doing the same thing.
This is who he is as a player. I’ve tried over a year ago talking to him. He seems to think that he is correct in the way he plays, and that we are playing NBA.
Not only has he gained the reputation of bullying, and knocking people over but he’s also gained the reputation of players, not wanting him in the gym and players, not covering him, or even willing to help out just giving him shots which is hard as a competitive player but I respect it because their looking out for their own safety.
Going forward if he is in the gym he will have to be on my team so I know I can feel safe on the court because I do not trust him at all now.
Please comment how you feel about this matter and if it had happen to you, or if you have experienced this.
For those of you that where not there Saturday can you guess who
Hit me so hard that my feet never hit the floor again until after I stood up from being launched over 4 feet.

This player argues the point that what he does is within the rules, which may or may not be technically correct, but I think misses the point.

Especially in recreational pickup basketball, and even moreso in games where there is a wide range of ages, strengths, sizes, and abilities, the foremost concern should be player safety and not technical correctness.

There are several other large, powerful players who restrain themselves to appropriate levels of play and aggressiveness.

I think that if this player wants to continue to play the way they play, they should find more appropriate venues with players of similar size, strength, and ability (and hopefully referees).

I agree with everything you said
Especially how there are other players that are more than capable of playing a lot my physical but they don’t in my opinion they understand that it’s recreation basketball, and there’s a certain physical level of contact that is played.

None of us are being payed to take hits like that. Sorta takes the fun out of it even if it wouldn't sideline me. Not for rec league, there's no prize when the game is done

It's best if we all can all play competitively, respectfully and be aware of others’ safety (even if they're not as good as me).
