The Wisconsin Rugby Club begins defense of their 2012-2013 National Championship this Saturday August 24th.

Under the direction of Head Coach Adam Thimming - The WRC Division II Side will travel to Lemont, IL to face the Chicago Blaze.  The Division IV Side will travel to Rockford to face the DIII Rockford Ravens.

The WRC roster has changed a lot since the 60-27 National Championship victory over Wilmington on June 2nd. A total of 11 Players from the National Championship Game 23-Man Roster have retired or are unavailable opening weekend.

Despite the personnel losses, Director of Rugby Sean Cullen has high expectations for the 2013-2014 season.

14 out of 15 DII Starters for this Saturday's match are returning veterans of the 2013 National Championship team.  The lone addition being  #11 Wing Chris Bauch. Bauch is a Univ of Minnesota graduate who spent the 2013 Summer player Midwest Qualifier Sevens with the WRCs Madtown 7s.
