Wisconsin Rugby Club advances to host Midwest Championship May 3rd
12:30pm Kickoff versus Detroit Tradesmen at the WRC Sports Complex
Wisconsin Rugby Club (WRC) Head Coach Adam Thimmig had high expectations leading into the Midwest Semifinal Match-up this past Saturday April 26th, saying "We have worked diligently on improving our skills in all areas of the game. Forwards have been challenged to become better passers and support players, and backs are expected to ruck and create turnovers just as effectively as the pack."
The Nations #1 ranked Wisconsin Rugby Club did not disappoint in its defeat of the Eastside Banshees (MN) 43-10. Jay Mitten scored first for the defending national champions with a nifty side step and burst through the defensive line. (Click the links to view the video highlight clip).
Midway in the 1st half a superb line break by Garret Donath lead to an Andrew Norton try which gave the WRC a 21-0 lead.
Andrew Hanske was a heavy burden for the visitors all day - bursting through tackle attempts seemingly at will. After storming out to a 28-0 halftime lead the WRC asserted its dominance throughout the full 80 minutes.

We are proud of our work, and are prepared to do even better"
The
