Hello all,

I am a new user of SWMM. I am trying to model an urban watershed with
SWMM. I have 10 years hourly precipitation data and monthly water
quality data. I intend to use them for calibration. Can I use the
precipitation data instead of design storm? I need your advice.

Thanking you all.

Yes.  You just have to define the precipitation for your rain gage as a Time Series.   This can  either be entered directly as a Time  Series in the model, ,or as an external file.   For 10 yrs of data, the external file might be your best optioin.
