We’re packed and ready to go! So grateful to have had this long weekend at Eric’s parents home in Stanford, CT to get our final packing done. They have been very supportive of our plans and helping with many tasks along the way, as well as keeping us well fed. We also had some time to visit with Greggy and Olga between errands and packing. All and all a great weekend.
It’s definitely been hectic though, with lists upon lists running through our minds- don’t want to forget anything important! For example, as I write this just minutes before heading to the airport, Eric is frantically doing last minute research to see if the wall plug converter we have will actually not cause our electronics to explode! At least we arrive in Delhi first, and though a crazy and hectic city, I’m sure if we look hard enough we’ll be able to find most things we could possibly be forgetting.
We’ve decided to share some pics with you of all our gear (see link), we won’t spell it out for you- but you’ll get the idea. It’s at once not very much for 6 months away, and yet a lot to fit on a bike… This should be interesting!
For those who don’t know our itinerary yet, don’t worry, we’re still figuring it out ourselves! But first stop is Delhi, India (off our bikes). We’ll be visiting a friend of my friend Akaash’s and seeing some sights there before flying to Kathmandu where our cycling will begin. But before Delhi we have a day and a half of travel, flying via London ahead. Wish us luck!
THIS JUST IN!: Lesley and Doug have just told us they’re sending a stretch limo to pick us up- SURPRISE! They’re honeymoon gift to us! I think the last time I rode in a limo was when a limo company sponsored my parks and rec soccer team in elementary school- this will be fun!
Chau for now, Kate.
