Hi Chris,

As per our discussion via the phone earlier this afternoon, I tried creating a 1 in 100,000-year event as per the storm injector help guide using the “Extreme Event IFD” event to generate an additional point TP (ARR) option for a rare 1 in 100,000-year event.

I took your advice of creating a new model for the 100k event separate to my PMP and 1% AEP event (which both ran successfully), however was seeking assistance in trouble shooting the issue for my specific event.

Please find attached my esi/siee files, wbn text file for my model, and csv file for the PMP estimate for the 100,000-year event.

Let me know if you are free some time tomorrow to discuss further or give me a call.

Regards, Neil

Hi Neil,

I have made some changes to the project and I will send the new project file (*.esi) to you directly.

I deleted all the IFD locations that did not have the ‘#A’ tag for already being aerially reduced. Once this was done, the extreme events appeared as options in the Rare version of the Point Temporal Patterns tab for Selected Events.

I also fixed the PMP custom event code to be: CStm_GSDM_1 in 100000*Rare*_1% AEP_HUB DATA_0_0_1.0$PMF 100K$

The 1% AEP tag in this code tells Storm Injector to use the 1% AEP value for IL but you can also put a fixed values (such as zero) in here if you wish.

So now, you can model the 1 in 100,000 year storm with both the ensemble approach using rare point temporal patterns (via the checkbox) as well as using the GSDM temporal patterns. Since Storm Injector 1.4.2, you can also select other temporal patterns in the same custom event code by separating them with the | character. There is some more information about this here: https://csse.com.au/storminjector_online_help/pmp_pmf-modelling.html (towards the bottom of the page)

Regards,

Chris
