Hi All

I have been running Storm Injector analysis (through XPRAFTS) for a couple of weeks now and have recently been getting the same Intel(r) Visual Fortran run-time error frequently.
The error reads:

forrtl: severe (47) write to READONLY file, unit 16, file ......... (lists a storm .OUT file)

I have found on other forums (such as this one) that it should only occur occasionally and when it does a simple re-run should correct the issue.
However in my case I am receiving at least 5-20 of these every project and re-running these does not solve the issue. They simply fail again with the same error over and over again.

Is this an issue that anyone else is facing? Are there any ways to fix this or workarounds?

Thanks in advance

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Have you tried using the 'Pause between Model Runs' option in the settings tab?

Perhaps try a 500 (ms) value and see if that helps. Are you using a network XP-RAFTS dongle?

Hi Chris

I haven't tried this, but I will in the future, however the pause doesn't seem to be helping the storms that have already become stuck in this project.

Yes I am using a network XP-RAFTS dongle, I have been using the 500 node license.

Does the XP-RAFTS node license have any effect on the Storm Injector speed? (i.e. 1000 node version running faster than the 500). I recently changed down to the 500 and noticed a considerable drop off in speed and wondering if it was that or just a coincidence.

Thanks and Regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Does the pause help when trying to re-run the unsuccessful simulations via the right click menu?

This issue has been seen before with network dongles and the pause has helped in these cases.

I can't see why the node limit would effect the speed but I guess only Innovyze would know...

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately not, I have added the 500 ms pause and right clicked to run all unsuccessful models and they are still failing.

Hi Daniel,

It might also be good to make sure there are no rafts processes still running in task manager or restart your computer.

If this problem is still persisting, can you please send through the ESI, XPX, DAT file and I will take a look.

Cheers,

Chris
