WBNM/SI Error

Hi,

I was running some WBNM models using SI 1.3.8, I was finding flows for a new AEP for three WBNM models that fed into the same TUFLOW model.  I had used the exact same process on two models and it worked fine but when I used the third model I get the following error:

"FATAL ERROR - ALLOCATE_ADJ_ARRAYS - First line of rain weights must be #####STA
 RT_INPUT_... or START_CALC_...
                                   - was        2.5300"

I tried a number of different WBNM .exe files and they all gave the same error message.  The .wbn file produced seems to have the same configuration as similar ones that ran correctly.

When I changed from different IFDs for every catchment to a single IFD for all catchments the model ran successfully.  Unfortunately the results are not usable.

Additionally, when I ran the supplied .wbn files produced by storm injector (for the other AEPs) using a .bat file and a WBNM executable they ran.

I would appreciate any advice.  I can provide more data but I don't know what will be helpful.

Thanks,
Richard

Hi Richard,

It sounds a bit like an issue that some of the older WBNM versions had when some of the lines in the wbn file got too long. Have you tried WBNM 2023? Otherwise, if you are happy to send through one of the problematic .wbn files and let me know what version of WBNM you are using, I can take a look.

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response.  It did set me on the path to solving the problem.  Newer versions of WBNM gave a different error (of the same type).

Storm Injector seemed to be creating some duplicate information at the end of the rainfall block.  I got things running by copying the rainfall block from the WBNM files created by SI (after trimming off the extra info) into supplied WBNM files of the same duration and then running via batch file.

Regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,

I’m glad to hear that you got it sorted. It would be great if you could send me the esi and wbn file that generates the duplicate info so I can look at fixing it?
