Thatscrazy because I didn't have problems until right before "the big prank" is activated also. It froze on me twice around the same spot both times. First right after I did the 4th prank and the second time when I was doing the big prank. Something is ****ed with this game and I hope they fix it soon.
Theres rumours going arond of these freezes can actually harm your console, and give it the 3 Red lights of Death... i have read numerous threads on different sites and it has been noted to cause bad freezes, and a few have had the lights.
My copy crashed 3 times so far, yesterday I was playing it and it only crashed twice, after a while I had no problems, the lip sync seemed to get better, the framerate was fine and it didn't crash once, I donno if all consoles will do the same as mine, I've been playing it today for a few hours without any problems, I don't think this is something Rockstar can fix with a patch but you never know
That would mean that the lock ups are caused by a heating issue rather than a software issue. Since I don't really have lock ups caused by other games, (with the exception of Mass Effect not loading a level during a level change). It could just be a coincidence that a red ring came at the same time during these lock-ups.
I think it's just a software issue, and a patch will fix it. QA testing is just garbage these days, there is not a lot of variation between console versions, they should be able to test it on all 360 types, I'm sure they too got lockups. They probably just figured they'll fix it later. Back when consoles didn't have internet connection this sort of thing would be unacceptable.
I am on my orginal xbox that has been sent back to Microsoft twice for the red rings and they have replaced the motherboard and all that good stuff....just really concerned that this may cause it again......the same is so good, i will try and play it again tonight and see what happens
I don't have any problems with crashing on my xbox elite, other than some dumb glitches. But my friend's Core system crashes almost like clock work. Does anybody know when the patch will be releasing?
yes and those rumours have become reality for me.... i was jst shooting sum pumkin heads and the game frooze. next thing i knew the red lights came up now i have to wait 2 weeks but the customer service was great so that made things a bit better
you mean your threads about collectibles. there's a pinned faq at the top of the forum, containing LINKS to the important threads. that's why it exists, so when people stop posting about certain important topics, and talk about other stuff, new people can still find the older, more important topics.
There's rumors that this game gives your console a RROD, there's always rumors that system updates can give your console a RROD, there are rumors that all sorts of things give you an RROD. Hell I'll start a rumor that farting in the same room as your 360 gives you an RROD. Most of the people that conjour up these rumors are just people who have no idea of the facts of the subject and it's all just a bunch of internet gossip. My console was manufactured Nov 2006 and I've had two lock ups so far. I'm prepared to let this go since a patch is due soon. It's going to happen to pretty much everyone so just SAVE every day and then if you get a lock up you wont have much to re-do.
thats becuse they started putting upgraded chips in the halo & elite models. but back on topice i am gunna pick this game up this weekend ae the crashes/freezes really that common in this game b/c if they are then i might pass on it . as far as the patch we should see it soon i remember seeing it somewhere but i cant recall where
A friend of mine once told me that the PS2 version of the game was crashing too and had happened to him on numerous time the closer he finished the game. I remember this faintly happening as well when I worked for Gamestation at the time the game came out for the PS2 and we got a couple of copies back in store a few days later that claimed the games were freezing/crashing. But since getting this myself for the 360, it has locked up a few times for me, once after the big prank which luckly I was able to save and a couple after I finished the game trying to finish up loose side objectives.
Yeah for the math answers I copied the PS2 version. You are new to the site so I will not be too harsh on you. Oh wait I will. You have no right coming in a thread where this topic of 'doesnt belong' is over 4 posts up, quoting somebody and flaming again. Get ahold of yourself. You have to be around thirteen or something with the flaming. Seriously, are you jealous because you didnt post all of this up here? I really hope not...
Just finished the 1st chapter and was on the way to egging 25 cars and BLEEP it froze so turned off the console waited a few seconds and fired it up again and then my worst nightmare 3 RED LIGHTS ( enter swear words here ) so off on ....... 3 RED LIGHTS 5 mins later my trusty console came back from the dead and started humming again .
Now i no some of you will say it`s the console not the game but have played on it since with no problems so took the game back to blockbuster this afternoon and exchanged for a new copy which at the mo is freeze free
SilentPatch attempts to fix Bully memory management completely, so it behaves in the same way independentof Windows version. This is not the only fix included, however - most notably, it attempts to improvegameplay experience by improving frame pacing, as well as fixing a few other issues.
Since this is a public beta release, you may encounter crashes. Because of this, MiniDumper utility hasbeen shipped together with SilentPatch. In case of a crash, a .dmp file will be created in your game directory.
If you want to report it as a bug (any feedback is very much appreciated), first ENSURE YOU HAVE AN UNMODDED GAME(texture mods are fine, scripts - not so much). You can report a bug (.dmp file + a brief explanation on whatyou were doing when the game crashes) on the GitHub Issue page.
Bullies are uncommon enemies in Super Mario 64, appearing in Lethal Lava Land, Bowser in the Fire Sea, and Snowman's Land. Bullies attack by running in to Mario, knocking him back. They can be defeated by knocking them into lava. The regular Bully model is loaded in actor group 2, while the Chill Bully model is loaded in with actor group 16.
An application of the Bully Battery glitch has been used to complete Elevator Tour in the Volcano in 0 A-presses and has been suggested as a possible method for getting past the Bowser in the Fire Sea pole in 0 A-presses on N64. Bullies have also seen minor use in other challenges, such as doing Bowser in the Fire Sea with no joystick.
Normally, a Bully's angle is confined to the range [-32768, 32767]. However, this code does not occur if the Bully is out-of-bounds. Due to this oversight, if Mario knocks a Bully out-of-bounds, its angle will increase by 32767 every frame without bound. After approximately 36 minutes, the Bully's angle exceeds the hex value 0x7FFFFFFF (2,147,483,647) at which point the game will crash from trying to perform a double-to-int conversion on a value above 0x7FFFFFFF. This crash does not occur on emulators, except for Wii VC, where the bully will keep moving on one axis, all the way out of the map.
The Bully enemy's knockback logic contains a step that involves dividing by the horizontal distance between Mario and the Bully. Thus, the game will crash from a divide by 0 error if the operation is performed while the distance between Mario and the Bully is 0. Causing this crash requires very specific conditions. Mario must be next to an area out-of-bounds so that he will not be moved away from the bully before the crash can occur and Mario must be in a state to receive knockback from the bully, making the exact movement needed to cause the crash very precise.
The Slapper is the main antagonist of Crash & Bernstein & the school bully at Linus Pauling Middle School. His real name is Rufus, but his last name is not yet known. In Educating Crash he gets 1-Upped by Crash, and becomes the right hand man to Crash. In Crash Jacked, he kidnaps Crash. in order to get Wyatt's bike, but fails because Crash annoys him and then is threatened by Crash's seagull friends, (Which really aren't his friends) and he is attacked due to the fish placed on him. Crash Jacked is the last episode Rufus appears in up to this point.
First of all, I saw there was an issue with this game hanging since 4.0-4896, but for me the definition of hanging is you start the game, crashes for a second or 5 while playing, and comes back. But in my test the game doesn't even load at all, so I created this issue thread. I tried to go to the game .ini to see if I could mess with some settings, but Windows search didn't find aything. Went directly to the game settings folder, and yeah, no ini. I got the idea of creating a custom ini for it, based on the structure of the other games, I even did a region specific ini (USA version), to see if something changes, but no, I double-click on the game, and no yellow letters appear, no Wiimote screen (the wiki says it might have slow performance on that screen, but even if I wait, nothing appears) FPS 0, but VPS 60, 100%, pressing frame advance increases that percentage, but that's just it. When games have black screen, I activate real XFB, because that's generally not-showing-FMVs related (right?), and FPS goes to 60, but nothing else.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
I'm using 4.0-6000 for about a month now, since I'm affected by the recent D3D fullscreen stop crash on all the recent versions. But latest (4.0-6301) also doesn't load the game.
Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue?
Yes, 4.0-4894 (the one before the revision with reported hangs) seems to work fine, but since that one doesn't have the SSE2 speed up thingy, I cannot play using my current CPU. I'm too lazy to backtrack this problem though, sorry.
