Looking for story, Prom related

Looking for one of my favorite stories here to share with a friend but I can't remember it's name. It's about a group of kids who find their soul mates like 2 weeks before prom. One's name is Rick and he is a Dom. Another wrestles and dates a black girl who's father had his tentacles cut off in war. Then there's another couple who always seem to know what the other one is thinking. I remember the line "terry loves lasagna." for some reason with that couple. Anyone remember the name of that story?

There are some similarities in the description to Second Best, but I doubt that it is the same story. The black girl was not wrestled and her father was not a eunuch.

Exactly. Far from it. Second Best is a great story, however. A little overdone often, but worth the read.

-- ah, but Tim did wrestle for the school, so he wrestled, and Marcus (Dolores' dad) had had in involuntary, shrapnel-caused, vasectomy so could (to an extent) be called a eunuch.  Rick (and his father) became Doms, however, the closest to the line "terry loves lasagna."  that I found is
