What are your favorite websites for finding quality reading material of any genre? Any pros or cons that you are aware of about the site? Are there any sites I should avoid?

Thanks.

The only one I can direct you to is "beyondthefarhorizon.net". You do have to register, but it is free and the forum can be a lot of fun.

There are a lot of good stories there, just work your way through the authors. You will probably find some stories that were also posted here.

Project Gutenburg, books in the public domain, with expired copyrights: http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

Baen Free Library, for some pretty decent Science Fiction: http://www.baenebooks.com/c-1-free-library.aspx

If you like Wes Boyd's writing, they're all here: http://www.spearfishlaketales.com/

If you lke Net Wolf his stories are here: http://www.wolfpub.org/contributors/index.php?cid=3

If you like Geoff Wolak his stories are here: http://www.geoffwolak-writing.com/

For the porn:

ASSTR (Alt.Sex.Stories.Text.Repository), the granddaddy of them all, so much there you can easily get lost: http://www.asstr.org/main.html
There should be classes in how to use this thing, but some helpful pages are:

Some Notable Collections there:

Literotica, lots and lots and lots of user provided erotic stories, terrible non-intuitive interface,
almost no search function, very commercial (lots of adds, but as far as I know, no harmful ones).
There are a bunch of good stories there that aren't also posted on SOL and ASSTR.

If you like do-over stories here's a nice list: http://do-over.wikifoundry.com/

The Erotic Mind-Control Story Archive, the name says it all:  http://www.mcstories.com/

And in the same vein, but including some magical transgender and body transformation stuff: http://www.asstr.org/~JR_Parz/Index.htm

I like this site, there's a lot of hard core writing here: http://www.understories.com/index2.html

but I'm not so thrilled with the new interface: http://www.understories.com/

AD WARNING: CONTENT WARNING!

This site's been around a while and there's a ton of really down and dirty stories there,
but it's run terribly since text is not the main business and it has changed hand many times over the years.
That said there's stuff her you will find nowhere else, if you have the stomach for it.

G'day MR,

Thanks for the plug for my ASSTR page, but the site hasn't been updated for revisions like my pages at SOL and FS have, both as Ernest Bywater or Ernest Edwards.

One I am working through is http://forums.sennadar.com/index.php with works from Fel aka James Galloway. Free registration though there are a few hurdles to overcome before you can post freely. There are stories contributed by others but mostly it is Fel's works in the forum. I saw this recommended here and have enjoyed what I have read so far.

Thanks for the recommendations so far and I hope to see more.

As you didn't specify fiction:

http://physicsdatabase.com/book-list-by-title/

Some of these books are aimed at the general reader, others are
university textbooks.

I was vague because the list would then help others as well as myself and I do read a wide variety of genres including non-fiction. Unfortunately, I am not multilingual so I am restricted to English (either American or Queen's) though if you know some good stories in other languages other readers may be interested.

Thanks for the contribution.

Literotica.com is pretty good. Erotic and other kinds, including poetry and audio stories. Also there are publications in other languages than English.

Happy reading!

If you can look past the Gay themes "awesomedude.com" offers some well crafted gay teen romance stories. Generally any sex is understated so not to squickish for the straight reader. Site has a forum plus a useful links page.
