vxvm question

hi all

 

I have a dg with a disk from storage - X.

 

I want to include a disk from another storage - Y into this dg, mirror it and release the disk from storage - X.

 

Please share the procedure to do so in vxvm

Hello Avinash,

This can be done in many ways.

I am just giving the following commands to do this in a simple way

vxdg -g dgname adddisk newdisk1
vxassist mirror <volumename> <diskname>
vxprint -htg dgname & vxtask -g dgname list to verify the mirror status
vxassist -g dgname remove mirror <volname> !diskname - removes the disk from the mirror
