Hi,

I am looking for a home NAS. I work at home and often I have files
above 4gb. questions:
Will a normal NAS FAT32 work for me or because file size I need a
ntfs?
If I use a ntfs and something happens to the nas would I be able to
recover my data?
Will I take advantage of GLAN or it doesn't really matter? (I would
have to buy a GLAN router)

Any other advice is more than welcome!, like brands...

Thanks a million!!

Hi,
What is the storage capacity that you need , you mention 4GB
What is total storage capacity needed ?
When buy NAS product even in your home you need think of what benefits you
gaining.
What do you need ?

Do you need snapshots/checkpoints per hour per day etc..?
Do you need battery backup to save all the open files before any power
lost...etc..?
Then you have several vendors that can sell you NAS storage.
NetApp
EMC
Microsoft storage server
Etc..

Hi,

thanks for your prompt reply on a sunday... !!!

I think I need something much simpler, a 500gb hd in a simple NAS
enclosure will do, just not sure about those issues in my first
message:

thanks anyway!
