Doormate by 12speed is a lightweight universal garage door system for your bicycle. Our garage door remote is designed to integrate into your bike handlebar for easy and convenient use without the hassle of carrying another item on your bike ride.

When we started developing the remote, we realized that alloy and carbon block radio frequencies that are used by garage door remotes. That was a problem for us since we wanted the remote to be installed in the bicycle handlebars, mostly made of alloy or carbon. The early prototypes only had an operational range of less than 1.5m/5ft. After months of engineering, prototyping, and testing, we finally acheived a range of more than 15m/50ft.

My partners and I at 12speed researched and designed the Doormate bicycle garage door remote with all our hearts and passion to make our dream device a reality. We've spend the last couple of years revising the prototype designs and we are at the finished stage of the product. The Doormate is FCC certified and water resistant tested. We have tested the product for over a year for battery life and it exceeded our expectations.

These days, garage doors and garage door remotes go hand-in-hand. Garage door transmitters send a signal to the motor inside the garage that tells the garage door to open and close. The invention of these devices has made access to our garages markedly easier, since they free us from physically lifting a heavy door.

In addition to garage door remote controls, garage door keypads are another way to access a locked garage without a manual key. There are two types: wired and wireless. Wired keypads send a signal to the garage door via a hard wire to the motor; while wireless keypads transmit a wireless signal, which functions a lot like a garage door remote.

I purchased a Chamberlain KLIK1U 2 button universal garage door remote a little while back and remember there being a dip switch option. I'm not sure if you can program two dip switch openers to it, but it might be worth a try.

Another option which is the one I had to do is that if you have a button inside the garage that you press to open the door, you can get a pair of Chamberlain 955D receivers. It allows you to use a rolling code remote on the opener. If you used one for each opener, you could get one remote with several buttons and program it.

You probably can change to a rolling code system if you want but this would involve installing an additional board in your receiver unit and would probably be to expensive to warrent doing, the other option is to use a small remote, This page from genie shows the specs of your current remote and you can compare it with a site like this one(this page is just an example go to the home page for all the examples that you may be able to use)

Some remote controls work with Series I. Some remote controls work with Series II. To make matters worse is that the remote control you received when the Legacy opener was installed is no longer available.

The original Legacy opener came out with a static 390 mhz frequency radio receiver that utilizes 12 security dip switch settings. The model number of the Legacy openers are shown as 496 or 696. You will be able to locate 12 little switches inside an existing remote control or on the backside of the garage door opener motor. The remote control will look similar to the photo shown to the below.

This style of remote control has been discontinued and has been replaced by the Overhead Door Master Remote Control OM3t-BX (part #37345R). The Master Remote Control is compatible with several different models of Overhead Door garage door openers and does allow you to program the 12 dip switch settings that you find in the older model Legacy garage door openers

There are many different styles and sizes of Code Dodger remote controls that are available. All of these remote controls will work with the Code Dodger Legacy garage door openers. In addition, the Master Remote Control (mentioned above) can be programmed to work with Code Dodger Legacy garage door opener.

PREREQUISITE: The cloning instructions below are written using Solidremote Universal RF Remote Control Duplicator / Self-Learning Copy Remote to ensure successful copying of most garage door remote controls, the original garage door remote control should be either fixed-code or learning code model, rolling-code model is not supported, detailed prerequisites & cloning tips can be found at bottom of this page.

NOTE: Solidremote RF Remote Control recommended when using our self-learning Universal RF Remote Control Duplicator / Self-Learning Copy Remote. Although our Universal RF Remote Control Duplicator / Self-Learning Copy Remote should work on most standard RF Remote Controls out there in the market, please be aware that it may not work properly on some non-standard RF Remote Controls. Please consult us for detailed compatibility information.

Press and hold down buttons A and B on Copy Remote simultaneously, LED flashes once, after approximately 5 seconds, LED on Copy Remote flashes quickly, all the transmitter codes in the memory have now been erased.

Place your Original Remote next to Copy Remote. Press and hold down the button on Original Remote that you wish to program onto the corresponding button on Copy Remote, and then press and hold down the corresponding button on Copy Remote. Hold both buttons down until you see LED on Copy Remote flashes quickly. This should only take a few seconds, and then you have successfully duplicated the code from Original Remote.

After successfully learned, LED will turn on and remains on when any button on Copy Remote is pressed, and the button on Copy Remote will function the same as Original Remote, the clone procedure is now complete.

If you have cleared the code by accident, press and hold down buttons C and D on Copy Remote simultaneously, after approximately 5 seconds, LED on Copy Remote flashes twice or three times, then flashes quickly, all the transmitter codes in memory have now been recovered.

If you have followed exactly the above programming procedure, but the Copy Remote does not work with your garage door opener, there are basically two major factors to consider: Firstly, your existing remote control might not be fixed code type. Secondly, your existing remote control and Copy Remote must transmit signal on the same frequency. The frequency is factory preset to 315MHz which is the standard for radio remote control apparatus in USA and China. The frequency can be changed to anywhere between 240MHz and 960MHz if required.

Cloning of Rolling-Code Model NOT Supported: Our Solidremote Universal RF Remote Control Duplicator can clone a vast majority of fixed-code RF remote controls, in which circumstance each time when the remote control button is pressed, the same code is encoded and transmitted. While when the RF remote control is equipped with Code Hopping or Rolling-Code Technology, it's not possible to clone because these type of remote controls transmit a different code each time the remote control button is pressed for better security.

TIPS: Fixed-code model is widely used in common remote control field such as Garage Door Openers, while Rolling-Code model is widely used in high security remote control field such as Car Security Systems, but today more and more latest Garage Door Openers model are equipped with Rolling-Code Technology, so contact us for compatibility information before placing an order.

I have a 10 year old Craftsman garage door opener model 1239.53675SRT2 with a wall opener, keypad remote and car remote. The door will always open and close with the wall opener. In the morning when I am leaving in the car the door will open with any of the 3 devices. I back the car out and then the 2 remotes will not work to close the door. If I reprogram or relearn the 2 remotes at that time then the 2 remotes work fine to close & open the door until the next morning when it all repeats where the 2 remotes will not close the door. It seems that the opener unit will not hold the remotes coding. Any ideas of what to try before I replace the whole unit?

I know this post is a couple years old now but I just had the exact same problem with my Craftsman opener after changing the light bulb at the rear of the opener. The remotes in the vehicles and the touch pad remote outside would open the door just fine but none would close it. The 3 button control inside worked fine up and down. Safety eyes were fine. Connections all good. Remote batteries good. I finally removed the bulb that I had replaced and the opener worked fine again. Don't ask me why this made a difference. But now I am just leaving that bulb out (it also has a bulb on the front side of the opener). If anyone has any idea why this happened please reply and let me know. Not sure if a faulty logic board could cause this as I am not an electronics expert.
