65-year-old man arrested for abusing minor girl

Kanyakumari : The Kanyakumari all women police arrested a 65-year-old man on charges of sexually abusing a nine-year-old girl. The accused has been identified as Arockiaraj of Manakudi and was arrested late on Sunday evening. He allegedly lured the girl by promising her a pen and chocolates. According to police, the incident came to light when the victim screamed for help in pain. A woman in the neighbourhood who heard her screams rushed to Arockiaraj’s house and found her on the bed. She alerted other villagers who informed the police.

Delhi Police bust human trafficking ring, rescue 3 minor girls

The Delhi Police have busted a human-trafficking syndicate and have arrested four people, including a woman. Three minor girls, including one of them who kidnapped last year, were rescued from the Geeta Colony area. The police said that the gang used to target minor girls in places such as inter-state bus terminals, railway stations and other busy places. According to senior officers, it was in March last year when a complaint was received at the police station in Geeta Colony reporting the kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl. DCP Shahadra, Nupur Prasad said, in February this year, the father of the missing girl received a missed call on his mobile phone.

17 Child Labourers From 3 States Rescued In Hyderabad

Hyderabad As many as 17 child labourers, all hailing from Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand states have been rescued at Secunderabad Railway station here, officials said today. Based on a tip-off that over 150 children were being brought to Hyderabad in a passenger train, teams from departments of Labour, Women and Child Welfare, Police and NGOs carried out searches in all the coaches after the trains arrival at Secunderabad station after 11 PM, Child Protection Officer (Hyderabad district) Mohammed Imtiyaz Raheem told PTI.

Delhi Government Plans Night Courts for Victims of Trafficking

New Delhi The Delhi government has planned to set up night courts to provide speedy justice to victims of trafficking, introduce corpus funds for their rehabilitation besides several other initiatives under its proposed policy. Under the draft policy on rehabilitation and combating trafficking of women and children, the AAP government has supported initiatives like video conferencing to enable the victims to narrate their story without being physically present in the court.

Juvenile among 2 held for sexual assault of minor

HANDIGARH Two persons including a juvenile have been arrested for kidnapping, thrashing and sexually harassing a minor girl at Japanese Garden in Sector 31 on March 10. However, one of the accused in the case is still absconding. The juvenile was produced before the juvenile board and sent to a juvenile home. Other accused would be produced in court on Sunday. Ranjit Singh, the station house officer (SHO), said they arrested a juvenile and Vijay alias Golu, a resident of Ramdarbar, in the case so far. He added that the family of the 13-year-old girl complained that Ravi, who is at large now, took her on his Activa scooter to the garden. His juvenile brother and Golu joined him there. All of them tried to outrage her modesty at the garden and also thrashed her.

Minor girl sexually assaulted by father in Haridwar

HARIDWAR A 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her father on Wednesday night when the girl was alone at their home in Haridwar. Police have registered a case and sent the girl for medical examination. Police are also trying to nab the accused who is still absconding. Police said that the incident came to light on Thursday morning when locals called the police. Amarjeet Singh, SHO of Jawalapur police station, said, “Our teams reached the spot on receiving information. We asked the girl’s mother to register a case into the matter. Following which, the girl’s mother and relatives gave a written complaint and we registered a case against the accused Qasim, 45, under section 376 (rape), 511 (Punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) of Indian penal code and POCSO act. We are trying to nab the accused.”
