MUMBAI A Gujarat man has been arrested for trafficking children to the US in 11 years.Thanks to a socially-conscious Mumbai actress, Rajesh Gamlewalas racket was busted by city cops in March (reported by TOI then) and four arrests were made.

7 girls rescued from child trafficking net in Yadadri

HYDERABAD Another child trafficking racket was busted at Yadagirigutta and seven minor girls, aged between three and seven years, were rescued by Rachakonda police on Saturday Five traffickers — Kamsani Ramya, Kamsani Kali, Kamsani Bhagya, Kamsani Neela and Kamsani Durgamma, all residents of Angadi Bazar and Ganesh Nagar of Yadagirigutta — were arrested in the latest raid, third such bust in the temple town in the last two months. They had procured the girls from different districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh from mediators Kamsani Shankar and Kamsani Yadagiri two to three years ago for Rs Rs 30,000-60,000. Yadagiri has been detained under the PD Act recently, while Shankar died a year ago, ACP, Yadadri, Sreenivasa Charyulu said. The five traffickers were staying with minor girls in separate houses pretending to be their mothers, DCP, Bhongir, E Ramchandra Reddy. The girls were shifted to rescue home.

Shady websites under police radar, 5 traffickers detained

HYDERABAD With human trafficking racket thriving online, police are keeping a close watch on websites such as Locanto through which traffickers attract customers. In the recent past, Rachakonda police have detained five traffickers under the PD Act. Apart from publishing details on Locanto, organisers of prostitution rackets have also been running several closed WhatsApp groups to scale up demand for flesh trade in the city. “We have been conducting raids on several brothels and rescuing victims. However, there has been a paradigm shift from local brothels to online flesh trade in the last few years. Websites like Locanto are used where customers contact the accused and finally the victim is pushed into prostitution,” said Mahesh Bhagwat, commissioner of police, Rachakonda.

300 kids sold to US buyers at Rs 45 lakh each kingpin held

MUMBAI The Mumbai police arrested the kingpin of an international child trafficking racket that allegedly sent at least 300 children from India to the US. Rajubhai Gamlewala aka Rajubhai, a Gujarat resident, started the racket in 2007 and would charge Rs 45 lakh for each child from his USbased clients. Human trafficking gang busted in Shahjahanpur, four arrested

SHAHJAHANPUR Shahjahanpur police has busted a human trafficking gang and arrested four people, including a woman, for allegedly abducting two minor girls and selling a 24-year-old woman. The minors were rescued after the woman managed to break out of captivity and approach police for help. All the three will be sent to their respective homes. Additional SP (rural) Subhash Shakya told TOI that the four accused have been booked under IPC sections 372 (selling minor for purposes of prostitution), 373 (buying minor for purposes of prostitution, etc), 366A (procuration of minor girl), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage) and 363 ( punishment for kidnapping).

Punjab boys trafficked to France, 8 months after arresting 3 agents, CBI yet to file chargesheet

Eight months after arresting three agents who are alleged to have trafficked 25 boys from Punjab and Haryana to France, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been unable to file a chargesheet in the case. The “kabutarbaazi” case first came to light in February 2016 when the French authorities picked up two of the boys, who had no travel documents, and deported them. The whereabouts of the remaining boys is not known, except that 18 were from Punjab and the rest from Haryana and Delhi. They were in the age group of 13-18 years.
