Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I apologize once again for the delay in sending out this update. It continues to be difficult to get in contact with Jared's family thus we have to receive our updates when we do. You can trust though that I will continue sending out updates as I get them.

Thanks to God I once again have very good news to send out to everyone regarding Jared and his health! On my last email to all of you I reported that though Jared had awoken from his coma and was much better, he still was not responding too well to conversation and was also fighting a staph infection. Well, we specifically prayed to God to heal Jared, to make him regain more brain function and to heal his staph infection and I am so happy to say that God has once again answered our prayers!

As of a few days ago, Jared was moved from the Intensive Care Unit into the Pediatrics ward of the hospital, a HUGE step in his recovery showing that he is now well enough that he does not need a constant crew of doctors watching over him! In addition to this, when the therapists were working on Jared a few days ago, they asked him to show a thumbs up and Jared did! They then asked Jared to hold up a finger and he also complied! This is fantastic because it is showing that Jared's brain (which received very heavy damage from the wreck), is slowly beginning to recover and that Jared is able to understand what people are saying to him! Finally, once again in direct answer of our prayers, Jared is almost totally clear of the staph infection that he had!

Christ has told us " Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened" Luke 11:9-1. The healing of Jared shows that your prayers have been specific and that your faith has been pure. Let Jared's progress go out as a testimony to the awesome healing power of Christ and the power of prayer!

Though Jared is continuing to heal he still needs your continued faith and prayers. Though he is much better and is showing signs of recovery, Jared's brain still needs a lot more healing before he can regain his functions. Therefore, I ask that you all specifically pray that God continue to heal Jared's brain and bless him with the ability to regain his former functions. Let us pray that God allow Jared the ability to speak so that Jared may once again communicate with his family! Finally, please pray that God continue to keep Jared healthy, keeping his body clear of infections so that he may heal as quickly as possible. Amongst your prayers for Jared, please pray these things specifically and truly believe that God will hear them and answer them.

For the last few weeks, Jared's improvements have coincided directly with the prayers we have been sending to God. Let this be proof that God is truly listening! Therefore, pray without doubt, with a pure faith in God's ability to heal and I know that Jared will be healed.

Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. As I say continuously, through your outreach and love, the glory of Christ is truly shining! Do not be afraid to share the fact that God is healing Jared, so that others may see as we have that the God of power and miracles is alive and well, and just as active today as He was in the day of Christ!

I love all of you with all my heart for the love you have shown my cousin and I will continue to keep you updated on Jared's progress. Thank you so much once again and may God bless all of you for your faith and love!

In Christ Always,

Mike Masten
