Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am sorry that it has been so long since I have last sent out an update. It has been difficult to get in touch with Jared's family to learn more of his condition. His family is constantly in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where cell phones are not allowed to be on and as the situation continues, 100% of Jared's family's thoughts and energy are focused on him.

Sadly as of last notice, the situation with Jared continues to be critical. A few days ago we were told that Jared briefly opened his eyes before closing them again, giving the doctors hope but sadly today Jared still remains in a comma. To make the situation worse, Jared actually had a seizure the other day, further complicating matters.

Now more than ever we need to all unite in prayer and ask God in the name of Jesus Christ to heal Jared and wake him up from his comma. Jared's number one hope for survival right now is to wake up from his comma. Brothers and sisters, I therefore urge you to pray passionately, have hope in what is not seen, truly believe in the power of Christ to heal the sick! As Paul said in his letter to the Romans:

But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.  And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. (Romans8: 25-27)

Let our prayers be as groans, that the Holy Spirit may hear us, may read our hearts, and intercede on our behalf. Specifically pray that Jared awakes from his comma and that he no longer has any seizures.

I cannot thank you enough for all your support and fellowship through this time. As I said earlier, we are in a race and we are far from the finish. Therefore please remain strong and faithful in your prayers and support. If we believe it is ours and pray for it, it will be. May Christ continue to fill you with His love and guide you always.

In Christ Always,

Mike Masten
