Dear All,

Please join tonight’s free online event about Frank Baarda’s wonderful new book “My Yuendumu storyat 7.30pm AEDT. For details and further free online sessions, please see: https://reconciliation4westernsydney.org/virtual-building-bridges-2021/

Should you be interested in a copy of the book, you may purchase it directly from the author by emailing Frank at fdba...@gmail.com for $40 or from Red Kangaroo Books.

I am very concerned about the proposed amendments to the ALRA, e.g. that there has been insufficient consultation with affected First Nations communities and Traditional Owners, that it will weaken Aboriginal land rights and undermine First Nations authority regarding mining processes. Submissions are due this Friday, 5 Nov. For more info, please see http://www.concernedaustralians.com.au/#Economic_Empowerment_Bill_2021

Prof. Jon Altman’s speaking notes as well as video from his talk last week about "Land Rights at Risk, again? Evaluation of the Economic Empowerment Bill" can also be found on the above cA website. To lodge a submission, you may be guided by the information from the information on the cA website as well as the attached document.

Submissions are due this Friday, 5 Nov. They can be lodged at https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Committees/Senate/Finance_and_Public_Administration/ALREconomicEmpowerment

If you were able to lodge a submission and send this information to your wider networks as soon as possible, I would greatly appreciate it.

best wishes,

Sabine
