Dear All,

extremely sadly last Wednesday, this country's wonderful strong campaigner for First Nations People's rights (including speaking out against the draconian Intervention) Ms Kunoth-Monks passed away. She was also an actor, featured in Jedda, John Pilger's Utopia, as well as in Amnesty's Homelands' campaign report, was NAIDOC Person and NT Australian of the Year 2015 and so much more.

As Cath said, she was a wonderful mother and grandmother who showed us all how a woman centred in her lore and culture could speak truth to power.
We were privileged to have her speak at our STICS forums and protest here in Sydney in previous years, where she generously shared her wisdom.

Jeff McMullen wrote "Australia has lost a national treasure and Aboriginal Australians one of their greatest warrior women with the passing of Rosalie Kunoth-Monks OAM."

"...Here is 'Utopia'  as a tribute to Rosalie,

And tonight No Dump advocates will be featured on channel 10's The Project, please see email below.

Best regards,

Sabine

Subject: Please watch No Dump advocates on 10's The Project Tomorrow night Monday 31st January 6.30-7.30pm

Tomorrow night Monday 31st Jan network 10’s The Project are interviewing No Dump advocates Kimba farmers Peter & Sue Woodforde & Barngarla Traditional Owner Jason Bilney in an on-site  segment about the federal government’s radioactive dump proposed for Kimba filmed last week . Please watch - program is from 6.30 to 7.30pm - exact time not known.

It’s been so hard to get media attention over these past 6 years. Of course local Dump advocates (many of whom have received much government funding) will also be interviewed.
But it’s definitely not over yet!
Best- Michele Madigan
