Subject: Something to share... and updates

Dear loyal Our Generation Media supporter,

Sometimes when things take longer to create, the magic and power deepens. This is certainly the case with Luku Ngarra: The Law of the Land.

But I finally have something to share with you all, a taste of what is on its way...
I don't take lightly what has been entrusted in me to present to you through this film. I often find myself gasping for air, breathless from the immensity of what I am learning.

I have taken careful responsibility to honour all the voices and views shared to me, no matter how confronting, without any censorship.

That is why I have been an independent media maker for over 15 years.

The task of compressing such momentous amounts of information into 90 minutes has been an anxiety I have never felt before. Nevertheless, after over 10 drafts I have come to a version that justifies the poignant wisdom and message of Rev Dr Djiniyini Gondarra, his people and his culture.

I also have an incredible amount of footage that will make for extra education resources down the track.

I thank you all for patiently waiting, but there could not have been any fast tracking or quick way of doing this. It was never that kind of a project. The added juggle of raising small children in the mix didn't do any wonders for the adrenal system. But the end is in sight.

In the coming month, I will hand over to the supersonic editor, Tania Nehme (10 Canoes, Charlies Country, My Name is Gulpilil) to help me with the fine cut and then it is the final touches of color grade and sound master.

As an entirely independent production, I do need to raise the funds to cover these final stages. So if you would like to contribute, I would deeply appreciate it. If you can't, that is ok, I value your support in whatever form in comes in. Please share the new video and inspire your friends, family and acquaintances.

Remember, we accept tax deductible donations through Documentary Australia Foundation.

If all goes well, we will have a September 2022 launch in Darwin and then start screenings across the country.

We hope to see you at a screening soon.
x sinem
