Sorry for the late notice, but a new bill with harmful implications for special-needs voucher students is being rushed through the legislative process on an incredibly short timeline.
Remember LifeSkills Academy, the Milwaukee voucher school that closed in the middle of the night, almost exactly two years ago? The operators fled to Florida, where they opened a new iteration of their failed voucher school, declaring sudden expertise in special needs so they could qualify for that state's version of special needs vouchers.
The agency that accredited LifeSkills Academy was Christian Schools International.
This new fast-track bill, AB602, seeks to add Christian Schools International to the list of accreditation agencies that can accredit special needs voucher schools in Wisconsin.
We need to let the Assembly Education Committee know:
Accreditation for special needs voucher schools should receive more scrutiny, not less. Wisconsin cannot tolerate even one more LifeSkills Academy debacle, brought to us by Christian Schools International. Christian Schools International must not be given rubber-stamp approval to accredit special needs voucher schools in our state!
Can you call or e-mail members of the Assembly Education Committee?

Can you attend the hearing on Thursday, and register or speak in opposition?
