Oh cool. Thanks, Will!

Hey, guys, here's some photos of what we've been up to: http://www.flickr.com/photos/62556269@N07/sets/72157626694352788/. not animating yet though (:

I also propose maybe every thursday that we try to send out an update to the group on what we're working on, just to keep each other motivated and also I'd love to see how things are coming with everybody. What do you guys think?

Cheers,

Aaron

Subject: NW Animation Festival - June 3, 4, 5

Hi Will --

I don't know if you've heard about the NW Animation Fest yet.  If it's appropriate, would you consider passing word on to your animation students at the NW Film Center?

Best wishes,
Sven Bonnichsen
Festival Director

2011 Northwest Animation Festival
Three days of amazing animated shorts from around the world...  A sprawling feast for animation lovers!

HIGHLIGHTS
Nearly 80 amazing animated shorts.  Three days, three completely different shows.  Includes films from two Oscar nominees, and the work of indie animators from nine countries.

In its first year, the Northwest Animation Festival brings 78 films to Portland, including Heart by 2011 Student Oscar nominee Erick Oh, and The Quiet Life—a sequel to Timothy Hittle's 1996 Oscar-nominated film CanHead.

The festival includes films from across the USA, as well as from Canada, Mexico, Ireland, United Kingdom, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, and Australia.  A good number also come from native Oregonians, such as Operation: Fish by Jeff Riley, Ruby Rocket, Private Detective by Sam Niemann & Stacey Hallal, and Old-Time Film by Barbara Tetenbaum & Marilyn Zornado.

Another notable local film:  The Box Game is the year-long work of more than 30 students from the Art Institute of Portland.

An abundant feast for animation lovers, the festival offers treats of many flavors.  Just Can't Trust a Drunk Ninja hilariously warns us about the danger of intoxicated, weapon-carrying ninjas.  The Nose, based on a story by Nikolai Gogol, tells the surreal tale of a vain civil servant who wakes up one morning to find that his own nose has disappeared.  The Lighthouse touchingly portrays a father's unwavering, life-long support of his son's dreams—like a lighthouse forever lighting for the boats.

Seating is limited.  Advance tickets are strongly recommended, and there's a big discount if you purchase the 3-day pass.

I think a weekly check in is a good idea. I'll post what I have accomplished tomorrow evening, though it isn't too much. I let my animation momentum slide to catch up with life and recoup.

Yes! Thank you Will for sharing the animation show dates. My birthday is June 2nd and going to see some independent animated shorts with friends and fam is the perfect way to celebrate!

Blessings to everyone!
