Hi all! Don't know if I will be able to make it this week. Quick summery: just got done with summer camp job (started end of June) and moving boyfriends stuff into my place so I haven't gotten far on the film since last meeting. Made Angelica's distance armature today and cleaned out and organized my workspace.

However, my computer is old, it crashed yesterday while playing a fb game and crashed today after just playing music (granted it was playing music all day, but still that shouldn't make it crash).

I'm debating between the new Mac 27in. desktop, or MacBook Pro 15in. I've always wanted a laptop but I wonder if it has enough oomph to run programs like Dragon, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects and be able to render things at a decent pace. These both have AMD Radeon graphics that claims to be able to run intense graphics and to "edit HD projects". I figure if it can edit HD video then it can run the programs I want, but I'm no expert. Any advice?

Thank you!!

Hey Edie

Both those computers would be able to run any of those programs pretty well. I run all those programs on my 4 year macbook pro and the one I have the biggest problem with is After Effects. After Effects, and I think Dragon, rely more on RAM (and GPU) than CPU so I would suggest leaning toward more RAM if you can.

Hope to see you and everybody else at the meeting Thursday!

Aaron

Hi Everyone -

I won't be able to make the meeting tonight. I hope everyone is doing well. And thanks Aaron and Edie for the conversation about computers, my computer is not doing well too. I'm still hoping to make it to the final screening. I want to see these little movies.

Thanks,
Demian
