So I wasn't a member of the group yet - emailed Aaron. Here are some pics of what I've don since our last meet up. The first two pics were tests of the trees. One tree (the first one I made) has a huge crack in it. I tried covering it up and re-baking it but the crack came back so I'm giving up on that tree. The second tree is too shiny (you can see is on the far right in the first two picks) I forgot to add a matte medium to the paint wash. I sandpapered it (you can see it's less shiny in the last pic) but it still looks crappy so I'm gonna dip it in paint thinner and see if that helps. I do have one complete tree that I'm happy with, the paint looks good and there are no cracks (to help with cracking I've let all trees cool off thoroughly before moving them around, seems to help). The two other unfinished tree's shouldn't take as long (hopefully I'm done trouble shooting trees).
I re-drew the outline of the pond to make it smaller (you can kinda see the outline in the 3rd pic). Will take it in to get re-cut soon. My boyfriend offered to help me cut a pond shaped hole into the "ground" so the pond and ground will be more flush. Going to experiment with different colored paper under the pond, they have some glittery papers at Micheal's that might give the clean pond a nice glint.
