In one of my recent games, I was largely relying on a boarding strategy. My medbay got hacked during phase 1 of the flagship fight, so I needed to get creative. In the process, I think I found a pretty decent way to reliably drain the Rebel Flagship of crew if you have hacking and teleporters.
First, pray that nothing too important gets hacked. I think the only real things that could be really ruin this strategy are the teleporter and hacking systems getting hacked. You probably also want your shields to stay up, because, y'know, you like not dying. The medbay getting hacked is a bummer but not an insurmountable problem if you have a decent amount of crew (see below).
Next, do what any respectable boarding ship does against the flagship and murder the missile/ion/beam guys (or ladies, the rebels are xenophobes, not sexists). This leaves the flagship toothless against your presumably level 3+ shields.
As I mentioned, I did this without my medbay. Once I disarmed the flagship, I began pairing my healthy non-boarding crew members as a meatshield with one my my boarding mantises. Since the teleporter destinations are based on the position in the room, it wasn't terribly hard to get the rebel to always fight the healthy crewman. And, thanks to Lanchester's Square Law of Attrition, my meatshields tended to last for about three victims before they needed to be swapped out.
Shields: Hacking shields is pretty much the go-to target for non-boarding builds. The hack surge lets all weapons fire uncontested, while also impairing repairs of the laser and missile systems and allowing for crew-kills from fire in the room (or from just locking 4 enemy crew in it and then delivering 7 damage to it from lasers). For a boarding strategy, the direct bonuses of hacking the shields are lessened, but it can still be useful if you have decent weapons that you can use to support the attack. It also makes it very difficult for enemies to reach the missile room to protect it (as most will have to go through 2 doors).
Medbay: Hacking medbay allows for almost effortless crew kills. Just teleport your team into the medbay, depower hacking to invite enemies into it, and then use a high-level hack combined with your boarding crew (who don't take damage from their medbay) to decimate their crew. However, while you're doing this the enemy weapons will fire unimpaired, so it's a poor target unless you want to eat several missile barrages before the enemy is out of crew.
However, you can secure an earlier boarding position by purchasing a Business Select fare, purchasing EarlyBird Check-In or by purchasing an upgraded boarding pass from the counter on the day of travel (when available).
There is priority boarding for customers who have a specific seating need to accommodate their disability, who need assistance in boarding the aircraft or who need help stowing an assistive device. These passengers board before Family Boarding, between the A and B groups.
What actually happens is an existing problem - passenger congestion in the terminal is moved or worsened along the process, into the plane. This is when the fun starts, you have people in seats next to the isle, people trying to get into their window seats, passengers boarding via the front door walking through the plane and people struggling for places to put their luggage. Passengers are generally already keen to travel, tired, frustrated and getting up and down, moving in & out of their seats just adds to their frustrations. This system is ripe for hacking and innovation.
- If boarding by the front and rear doors, the first step would be passengers in window seats in the middle of plane board first. If boarding via the front doors only, then the passengers seated at the rear of the plane board first.
For larger planes, like the A380, with 3 columns of seats, it would be a similar process with the critical change still being window seat passengers are called to board first, with the addition of passengers sitting in seats in the middle of centre column also boarding with them.
Jason Steffen also publish some research into the optimal method to board passengers in the Journal of Air Transport Management, where he identified also a method that parallelises the boarding process rather than serialising it.
This is a huge travel tip! Plan your air travel by the boarding time NOT the departure time! Do you know the difference? This video explains WHY this is the best air travel practice!
One question: Could it be possible on future updates, that we can change the background music while boarding or better, we could use our one music (or other wave or audio files) ? That would be really amazing and a big plus for more immersion. (Some people know this maybe from self-loadingcargo, but unfortunately they give up to update this software).
When the operation calls for the rapid recovery of an enemy-occupied vehicle or station, the Legionnaire is ready for duty. With eight drop seats, versatile docking options, and an advanced security infiltration system, even the most difficult boardings are viable with the Legionnaire in your fleet.
We showed up for other rides over an hour after our boarding group was called due to a dinner reservation and they allowed us to ride without a problem. As always, your mileage may vary with this TRON Lightcyle Run tip. Not all Cast Members will be able to allow you entry, but it never hurts to ask NICELY.
Etay Maor, chief security officer at global threat intelligence firm IntSights, travels often. In fact, he took more than 100 flights over the past year. During his trips, he noticed a troubling trend: Passengers leaving their boarding passes behind on the plane.
For travelers who would rather use their phone instead of a paper ticket, Fitzgerald recommends taking a screenshot of the QR code on the mobile boarding pass and saving that to your photos, eliminating the need for an additional app to access it.
