iCONGO- (International Confederation of NGOs), along with all its partners, salutes the spirit of all Change Leaders every year on
26th November, our Social Justice & Citizen Action Day (26/11 was the day we adopted our constitution in 1949).
The “Karmaveer Puraskaar - the coveted Global Awards for Social Justice & Citizen Action”, instituted in partnership with the UN, VSO, CtrlS and various UN & Civil Society organizations, media partners, trusts & foundations and academic institutions, are given to citizens from across the globe for their exceptional work to bring about a change in the society . Karmaveer is an vital part of the “RIGHT EVERY WRONG PEOPLE MOVEMENT” for creating positive principle led Attitudinal/Behavioral change within people for being the change we want to see in our world. The “KARMAVEER PURASKAAR” awards ceremony has over the years become a “MELTINGsPOT” where People from India & Global Citizens that comprise individuals ranging from princes and princesses to global bestselling authors, young politicians, statesmen, bureaucrats, ambassadors, actors, singers, captains of industry, media professionals, development workers, young adults, students, school children, homemakers, academicians, slum workers, sexdworkers, homeless, street children, grassroots people and others who come “TOGETHER as ONE to RIGHT every WRONG”. These awards recognize and applaud the social commitment of concerned & caring individuals, who have proactively and voluntarily worked for bringing a positive transformation in the society and the world we live in. In today’s world where there is huge apathy & indifference, we feel a paramount need for being not just a good person, but also a good humanitarian and a good citizen who exercises her/ his rights, duties & responsibilities as a concerned, just and humane citizen. People do not get this award for who they are but for what they do to make a difference in our world.

Karmayuga –The Right every Wrong Generation is a movement to bring together and recognise citizen volunteers/ uncommon & unsung heroes who, through their focused action, are trying to Lead the society towards a better tomorrow. We salute and showcase the extraordinary & inspiring work done by ordinary mortals & citizens in their own space & time, to RIGHT a WRONG that they see around them. We believe that when all this energy of “Individual Social Responsibility” comes together, then we shall “Together as ONE RIGHT every WRONG”. Karmaveer Chakra (The MEDAL OF INTEGRITY & HONOUR for People Heroes) was introduced under the banner of Karmayuga, in association with UN, to felicitate the Citizen Volunteers & People Heroes. Initiative Partner Karmaveer Chakras were also introduced with various organisations, to felicitate their volunteers and supporters. Some of our partner organisations include- UNV, VSO International, Skillshare International, Imagindia Institute, SilversInnings foundation, Rabindra Nath Tagore foundation, RTI Nation, SOIL (School of Inspired Leadership), Haemophilia Federation, People Magazine, CNBC Young Turks and others. These Karmaveer Chakras have the partners name as a prefix to it. (eg. People Magazine People Heroes Karmaveer Chakras or UN Volunteer Karmaveer Chakras.)
