Dear Friend,

As you might already know, the Joy of Giving Week is India's "festival of giving" celebrated from October 2-8 every year. The 2011 edition saw over a million people donate, volunteer or engage in acts of kindness, channeling an estimated Rs30cr+ in money and materials. The "festival" is not an NGO, but something that all of us can be a part of, just like Diwali, Christmas or Id, except that it spans across all religions :-).

Many NGOs organise their own fundraising, volunteering or collection campaigns during the Week, but for smaller organisations, often putting together an event of their own becomes very difficult. Attached is a note that outlines events in Mumbai that your organisation can participate in, even if you can't organise your own events. The note offers contact information for each option so that if you like anything, you can straightaway reach out and speak to someone.

Here's hoping you find it useful.

Sincerely,

Surya Prakash Loonker
