For those who are not convinced, and especially for Governor Patrick, and the Massachusetts Legislature.
There is little reason to believe that the regulatory bureaucracies at various levels of government in the USA
are superior to those of Canada.  Note that the railroad company, the "Maine & Atlantic owns more than 800km (500 miles) of track serving Maine, Vermont, Quebec and New Brunswick."  The latest news and pictures can be found at; 



The more carefully one reads about what happened the less one understands.  But it is clear that the risks of holding fully loaded fuel tank trains on railroad sidings may outweigh the benefits.  The adjacent waters certainly do not benefit.
