We bring to you a list of sixty such cases that have been reported from different parts of the country over the years.
Case–1: On May 28 in the evening hours at Rohini’s Shahbad Dairy area a 16-year-old girl was brutally stabbed more than 20 times by her jilted lover right outside her home. The accused identified as Sahil Khan whose picture wearing Kalawa went viral on the internet. The murder was so brutal that even the post-mortem report of the minor Hindu girl made it headlines.
Case–2: On May 18, 2022, 28-year-old Aaftab Poonawala strangled his live-in partner Shraddha over an argument and then proceeded to dismember her body into 35 pieces, allegedly charring her face to hide her identity. A 300-litre fridge was used to store her body parts, which were individually disposed in the Chhatarpur forest over the next 18 days, at around 2 AM every night to avoid suspicion. According to the police officials quoted in media, he stated that even if he is hanged for the murder of Shraddha, he would not be sorry since he will be remembered as a hero when he enters paradise and will be offered ‘Hoors’ in ‘Jannat.’
Case–3: On August 24, 2022, a 16-year-old girl in Delhi’s Sangam Vihar was shot by stalker Ali. He used to follow her for a long time, Ali had concealed his original identity and name to interact with the girl. When the girl came to know that the boy’s religion is different, she completely stopped talking to the boy. Despite this, he kept following the minor.
Case–4: In a brutal incident, a young Hindu girl named Neetu was murdered in cold blood by her friend Layeek Khan also known as Safeeq Khan on refusing his marriage proposal. The incident occurred on February 19, 2021 in the Begum Vihar area in Rohini, North West Delhi.
Case–5: In November 2019, police arrested three men identified as Noman, 30, a resident of Noida, Arman, 26, a resident of Shakurpur Village and Samsad, 30, a resident of New Usmanpur. They have been arrested for allegedly killing a woman and dumping her body after stuffing it in a suitcase in Outer North Delhi’s Bawana area.
Case–6: On May 27, 2023, a pregnant woman Seema Gautam was killed by her live-in partner Mohammad Naved in Shahjahanpur. Before killing her Naved converted Seema to Islam and changed her name to Zoya Siddiqui.
Case–7: On February 14, 2023, Chanda Singh, a widow and mother of two daughters, was trapped by Arif Hussain who took on the identity of Guddu Singh. Hussain strangled Chanda to death after she refused to perform namaz. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi.
Case–8: In November 2021, Varsha Raghuwanshi was killed by her husband Faheem Qureshi. She was called ‘kaafir ki aulaad’ at his house and was forced to cook and eat meat. The case was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra district.
Case–9: In March 2022, a Dail girl was raped and murdered by Mohammad Sahil who took to a hotel. He abused her and made several attempts to rape her. The girl kept on resisting his attempts to sexually assault her. The accused then forcefully poisoned her and abandoned her in the nearby Bijopuri forest area.
Case–10: In March 2022, Mohammad Shakir killed Shushilavati in Uttar Pradesh Bulandshahr. The reason for the murder was the possession of Sushilavati’s flat by the accused. Shakir described himself as influenced by ‘Charles Sobhraj’ of Nepal. During interrogation, Shakir also informed the police about using the Hindu name Rajesh before meeting the victim.
Case–11: On September 14, 2022, Uttar Pradesh police arrested six accused identified as Junaid, Sohail, Arif, Hafeez, Chhote and Karimuddin for raping two Dalit sisters in Lakhimpur Kheri.
Case–12: In November 2022, A man named Mohammed Sufiyan allegedly threw a woman named Nidhi Gupta off the fourth floor of a building for not accepting conversion-nikah with him. In the First Information Report (number 231/2022) filed in the death, the statement by Nidhi’s mother Lakshmi Gupta says that a neighbour named Sufiyan, who is son of Mohammed Raju, used to follow her daughter.
Case–13: In a spine-chilling case, Wasi Ahmed murdered his wife Uma Sharma alias Arfa Fatima by giving her an electric shock on December 22. The police recovered the victim’s body on December 24, 2022, from her bedroom in Lakhimpur Kheri District.
Case–14: In September 2022, National-level kho-kho player Babli Rani (24) was strangled to death in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesg by railway labourer Shahzad (26) after she resisted his attempt to rape her.
Case–15: Nisha, a Hindu woman, was killed by her Muslim husband Dr. Iqbal in October 2021 because she refused to convert to Islam. Iqbal, a father of four who was already married, tricked Nisha by pretending to be a Hindu. When the victim discovered he was actually Muslim, he remarked that each person might practise their own religion. Two daughters belong to the couple. Iqbal, however, began urging Nisha to convert to Islam. The incident was reported from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
Case–16: In May 2019, a case was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, where Shakib and his family had chopped Ekta Deshwal into pieces and buried her in a field. Police arrested Shakib’s brother Musarrat, father Mustakim, sister-in-law Reshma wife Naved, Ismat along with wife Musarrat and fellow villager Ayan who brought them to the forest of the village. Reshma removed all the clothes of Ekta. After this, everyone together severed her hands, legs and head with a bow. The body was buried by digging a pit in the sugarcane field. Her hands, feet and head were thrown into the village pond.
Case–17: In June 2020, Naina Kaur was brutally stabbed to death by stalker Sheru Khan (22) while out shopping with her parents in Ghaziabad, NCR. The main accused was identified as Sheru Khan (22), a resident of Delhi’s Sunder Nagri, police said. “He said he was in love with Naina since the time she used to go to school in Sunder Nagri,” a police officer said.
Case–18: In July 2020, Priya and her daughter were murdered by accused Mohammad Shamshad who introduced himself to her by the name of Amit Gurjar on Facebook. After befriending her and getting into a relationship with her, he murdered the woman & her daughter Kashish and buried their bodies in his drawing room.
Case–19: In July 2020, Priya Soni married Ajaz Ahmed without informing and seeking permission from her family. In September, Ahmed with the help of his friend brutally murdered his wife and beheaded her to hide identity. They then hid the body in the bushes and threw away the head in the bushes 100 meters away. The case was reported from Sonbhadra district of Uttar Prdaesh.
Case–20: In September 2022, a case was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district where Asif posed as Rajkumar to trap and marry Neha. When the victim found the truth and confronted there began quarrels, within months Asif killed Neha.
Case–21: In October 2019, a case was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow where Nadeem Khan killed his third wife Seema Soni by slitting her throat. Notably, Nadeem got Seema converted to Islam as her name in the social media profile was Seema Khan.
Case–22: In May 2017, Archana (18) who had eloped with Javed, a married man with three children, died four weeks later due to excessive consumption of some medicines. The man was arrested after Archana’s family alleged foul play.
Case–23: On 4 July 2017, Adnan Khan got his pregnant wife gang-raped by his two friends and then murdered by shooting her in the head at point-blank range. Furthermore, to ensure that she doesn’t survive, he slit her throat with a knife. The two had frequent fights after Adnan took a second wife by performing nikah according to his family’s wishes. The case was reported in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj.
Case–24: In January 2023, a case was reported from Mumbai where a waman named Yashoda became Rubina to marry Mohammad Rehan but was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Notably, Rehana was from Madhya Pradesh’s Katni district, her parents said, Rehan forced her to eat meat.
Case–25: In May 2022, A disturbing case of grooming and murder was reported from Mumbai’s Goregaon West. 23-year-old bakery owner Mohammed Ansari was arrested for brutally killing 18-year-old Hindu girl Sonam Shukla. The girl, residing in Goregaon’s Prem Nagar area, was preparing for her NEET examinations.
Case–26: In September 2022, Ambika was abducted by Zakir and accomplice from Amravati, Maharashtra. Later police arrested Zakir Ahmed and his two aides for abducting and murdering Ambika Maraskolhe.
Case–27: In September 2022, Mohammad Iqbal Sheikh murdered his Hindu wife Rupali Chandanshive (20) by slitting her throat for not following Islamic traditions and demanding a divorce. The incident occurred in the Tilak Nagar/Chembur area of Mumbai. Reports mention that the accused used to force Rupali to wear a burqa and follow Islamic rituals and practices soon after the two got married.
Case–28: In December 2022, a case was reported from Mumbai where a Rajasthani girl was killed by live-in partner Riyaz Khan. The 27-year-old was found dead in Navi Mumbai and her family has accused her live-in partner Riyaz Khan of killing her. This news comes after recently the murder of Shraddha Walkar by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla came to light.
Case–30: In December 2020, Mohsin Khan slit the throat of his girlfriend’s grand mother Lakshmi Dhurve. 17-year-old Mohsin Khan brutally killed 70-year-old Laxmi Dhruve and her 10-year-old grandson Yash by slitting their throats at their residence at Hazaripahad, Nagpur, Maharashtra. The heinous act was a fallout of the girl’s family’s objection to Mohsin Khan and their daughter’s alleged friendship, said police.
Case–31: On October 15, 2018, Model Mansi Dixit was murdered and her body was stuffed into a bag by her boyfriend Muzammil Sayyed. The murder took place in Andheri West’s Millat Nagar. Sayyed hit her on the head with a stool and strangled her to death following an argument.
Case–32: In October 2022, Minor girl Rubi Kumari (13) was allegedly raped and murdered by one Sheikh Raja (19). Rubi Kumari’s dead body was recovered from railway tracks near Sheoraphuli (Sheorafuli) rail station in the Hooghly district. Locals and her family members allege that Seikh Raja raped and murdered her. Then they caught Seikh Raja, who a is resident of same area. Angry locals tied him to an electric post and beat him up.
Case–33: In July 2018, Sheikh Sultan shot his girlfriend Subhologna Chakraborty dead after his fake Hindu identity was exposed, which led to the cancellation of their wedding. Things were at an advanced stage and the 35-year-old Subhologna was all set to have a court marriage with Sultan. But then the marriage was called off after the girl’s parents came to know of Sultan’s real identity.
Case–34: In January 2023, Mamta Devi, a married Hindu woman, was murdered by a Muslim man who was insisting her to leave her husband and elope with him. This incident took place in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district. The deceased’s sister Jaya Devi, as quoted in media reports says, she was murdered by Rocky Baba alias Armaan Khan. Jaya told the media that her sister Mamta was married and she also has a three-year-old daughter.
Case–35: A girl, 14, was found hanging from a tree in Jharkhand’s Dumka in September 2022. She was raped and murdered by Arman Ansari, a construction worker, who has been arrested. Ansari groomed the minor and exploited her for months until she became pregnant, Ansari first murdered her and then hung her from a tree to make it look like suicide.
Case–36: In December 2022, a Sharaddha Walker like incident was reported from Jharkhand where Ribika Pahadin was killed by husband Dildar Ansari and chopped into 50 pieces. Ribika and Dildar were having a love affair for the past two years. They wanted to marry each other but both families were against the alliance, but she eloped and married him. To hide the crime and confuse the police, Dildar also registered a missing person report for his wife Ribika.
Case–37: In October 2022, a minor girl was reportedly murdered by Chand Ansari and his friends in Jharkhand’s Simdega. The victim’s family also alleged that Ansari had first raped and subsequently assaulted her to murder her.
Case–38: In November 2017, Chayanika Kumari (30) was strangled to death by her alleged boyfriend Mirza Rafiqul Haque, a doctor by profession, for refusing to convert to Islam and marry him. After murdering Chayanika, Haque stuffed her body into a suitcase which he left at the Tata Nagar railway station, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
Case–39: In December 2017, a Hindu woman was raped and later murdered by her ‘In-laws’lover’ Adil Ansari’s family as she refused to convert to Islam in Jharkhand’s Bokaro District.
Case–40: In March 2022, Gulbez murdered Ramsa after she refused to undergo nikah (Islamic marriage) against her family’s wishes. The incident was reported from Uttarakhand’s Roorkee.
Case–41: In August 2022, after a 24-day-long investigation, the Nainital police solved the mystery of Anjali Arya’s disappearance and arrested her “lover” Mohammad Yameen Ahmed. The accused had killed Anjali by slitting her throat because she was asking him to marry her after their courtship.
Case–42:In April 2021, Hyder and his two friends, Arif and Farhan murdered a Hindu girl named Nidhi Paswan by slitting her throat with a paper cutter in broad daylight inside her house. The gruesome murder was reported this Saturday from Rourkee near Haridwar in Uttarakhand.
Case–43: In December 2021, Newlywed bride Tanishka Sharma was shot five times by Mohammad Sahil and his friends while she was on her way to her in-law’s place after the wedding ceremony. Sahil had been stalking Tanishka and the situation worsened to the extent that the family made her quit her studies after she passed Class 12.
Case–44: In June 2020, Shivani Khobiyan was killed by her neighbour and stalker Arif Khan who strangulated her in her salon on 26 June 2020 in Haryana’s Kondli. As per reports, Shivani’s family had complained against Arif three years back and he was made to apologize for stalking Shivani back then. Since then, Arif was holding a grudge against them and wanted to avenge his humiliation.
Case–45: In 2020, Nikita Tomar was killed by stalker Taufiq who also kidnapped her in 2017. The shooter, sources said, studied with Tomar till class X and had kidnapped her in 2017 in what police said was a one-sided love affair. The family had lodged an FIR but later withdrew case due to social stigma and to allegedly keep their daughter out of any legal procedure. However, the accused continued to harass her.
Case–46: Ajmer police arrested Arshad Khan and three of his accomplices for their role in the gang rape and murder of a 17-year-old minor Hindu girl in March 2022. Arshad befriended the minor through Instagram.
Case–47: In August 2021, a shocking incident was reported from Kota 26-year-old Rizwana, who was earlier Antima Shekawat, was killed in broad daylight in the middle of the street. Antima was groomed by Imran; then converted, sold for money and killed after 11 years of ‘marriage’.
Case–48: In April 2022, 15-year-old Prachi Rana was brutally murdered in her home in Una District by Asif Mohammed, a newspaper vendor who used to deliver the newspaper to the victim’s home. On April 5, when Prachi was alone in her house, the accused entered the house around 1 PM on the pretext of giving a newspaper bill. After entering the house, he ‘proposed’ to her and tried to molest her. When she resisted, the accused slit her throat and fled the spot.
Case–49: A teenage Hindu girl was raped and killed by 23-year-old Sabir Ali, aka Baba Khan in Chhattisgarh’s Surajpur district. The incident took place on March 24, 2022, and the accused tried to pass it off as a case of suicide.
Case–50: In December 2022, Shahbaz murdered 21-year-old Neelkusum, janjatiya by birth who had converted to Christianity, by brutally stabbing her 51 times with a screwdriver. The horrific case occurred on December 24 last year in Korba.
Case–51: In November 2019, A woman named Sunita Kushwaha was brutally murdered in Navagarh town in the Janjgir-Champa district. As per reports, the woman had been duped after a long relationship with a man named Zameer Khan and was murdered after she confronted Zameer’s family members.
Case–52: In June 2021, Two minor tribal girls belonging to the indigenous Rabha tribe were found hanging from a tree in a forested area near their native Abhayakuti village in Assam’s Kokrajhar district. The police have taken seven people into custody in connection with the rape and murder of the two minor girls. Of these, at least three are said to be Bengali Muslims. Three of the accused have been identified as Muzammil Sheikh, Nazibul Sheikh and Farouk Rahman.
Case–53: In June 2017, Hindu girl Nagakethana, an MBA student, was stabbed by Muhammad Tanish in Chittoor District’s Chandragiri Mandal in June 2017 after she turned down his marriage proposal.
Case–54: Neelam Ahirwar who converted to Islam and became Afroz Begum after her nikah to Talib died under mysterious circumstances on 6 July 2021 in Chhatarpur. Police began investigations after her family alleged she was murdered.
Case–55: In July 2021, 21-year-old Kashish Parmar’s body was found in a gunny sack lying in a drain in Bhopal’s Khajuri area. As per her maternal uncle, Kashish had gone out to meet Akhtar Ali (33) who brutally murdered her. Ali hit her with a stick, stabbed her, and then packed the dead body in a sack and flung it in a sewer near his house.
Case–56: On 8 February 2023, Prabha Bharti, a police constable from Katihar was shot dead by a man identified as Mohammad Hasan alias Hasan Arshad. The accused had been stalking her for quite some time and was pressurizing her to get married to him. He used to threaten to make her private videos public and ultimately murdered her by firing two bullets into her head.
Case–57: In December 2022, Sheikh Shakeel Miyan murdered a 42-year-old married woman named Neelam Yadav in broad daylight in the middle of a market area on Saturday in the Pirpainti police station area of Bhagalpur district. Miyan was aided in this crime by his brother Mohammed Zuddin. The two men first brutally stabbed Neelam in the back and head, causing her to fall down. They then cut off her hands, ears and breasts and gouged her eyes.
Case–58: In November 2022, Hindu girl Mamta was murdered by a married grooming jihadi Mohammad Shariq (25) at her house at Burail village in Sector 45, Chandigarh. The girl had started avoiding Shariq and blocked him on her phone which incensed the Islamist sexual predator and drove him to murder.
Case–59: On 10 January 2020, Mohammad Shahid murdered his ‘girlfriend’ Munigala Harathi by slitting her throat using a blade on suspicion of infidelity in his home in Hanamkonda in Warangal District.
Case–60: In February 2023, a woman constable was killed by an ex-stalker in Katihar district of Bihar. Her family members have alleged one Mohammad Hasan alias Chhote for the murder saying he was mad at her for breaking up with him.

Love Jihad: Here’s a list of 30 cases where Muslim men posed as Hindu by using fake names, Kalawa, Tilak and Rudraksha
Here is a list of 30 cases reported in the recent past where Muslim men have either faked their names, ID cards, social media profiles, attires or have used Kalawa, Tilak and Rudraksha mala to trap Hindu women for conversion
On May 29, 16-year-old Sakshi was butchered by her alleged boyfriend after she refused to continue her relationship with him. Sakshi found out that the 20-year-old man was not Sunny but Mohammad Sahil. It was a brutal murder as Sahil stabbed the victim multiple times and then crushed her head with a cement boulder.
Pictures of Sahil wearing a Kalwa and Rudraksha mala are circulated widely on the internet. Pictures like these are common in circulation as a number of Muslim men have done this.
Watching these pictures one question comes to mind and that is, Was it the only case where a Muslim man hide his identity using Kalawa or worshipped idols to look like a Hindu, trapped a Hindu woman and got her converted?
Well, this correspondent brings stories of thirty such women who have been fooled by Islamists to conversion or are killed or threatened to get killed if they refused to adhere to their demands. Some found victims found the truth about their religious identity in the beginning while others found years after the marriage.
Case–1: In February 2023, I reported a case from Haridwar, the holy city in Uttarakhand where Azhar Ahmed posed as Rahul to marry a Hindu woman and after nine years of their marriage, the victim found she was living with a Muslim man. The truth came out after she accidentally found an Aaadhar Card at home. It had her husband’s (Rahul’s) photograph but the name mentioned was Azhar Ahmad. A First Information Report (number—41/2023) was registered at the Kankhal police station on 30 January 2023.
Notably, Rahul and Sonia had married each other in a temple. Rahul used to wear kalawa, put Tilak and even visited temple, accepted prashad from Ganga Arti, and allowed the woman to keep Karwachauth fast as well.

Case–2: This correspondent covered a case back in December 2022 from the Siwan district of Bihar where a Muslim man posed a Punjabi Hindu to trap a woman and later left her to lure another Hindu woman. The accused was identified as Kaleemulla, he posed as Sameer Khanna. He got the victim woman, Ratna converted to Islam and changed her name to Ayesha Khatun. A First Information Report (number–324/2022) was registered at the Hussainganj police station.

Case–3: This correspondent reported a case back in July 2022 where a woman, Rachna Solanki filed a police complaint against her husband Amit Kumar Singh who was actually Ikrar Qureshi. She found the truth nine years after their marriage. Ikrar had two Adhar Cards and had his name printed on the wedding invitation as Amit Kumar. The first information report (number 354/2022) was registered at Jagdishpura police station of Agra district in UP on 18 June 2022. The couple did Diwali pooja together and went to various temples. Rachna says she is an ardent follower of Lord Hanuman. Amit accompanied her to temples.

Case–4: On March 2023, Organiser reported a case from Haridwar, the holy city in Uttarakhand where Mohammad Shoaib posed as Sachin to trap a Hindu woman from Harijan community. Later forced her to convert. A First Information Report (number–108/2023) was registered at the Pathri police station of the Haridwar District on March 1. The man asked the woman to remove the OmM symbol tattooed on her hands.

Case–5: In March 2022, Organiser reported a similar case from Uttar Pradesh where Rashid posed as Raju Mishra to trap a Hindu woman. Rashid had two Adhar Cards with these names, told the victim. The woman was later converted to Islam and her name was changed to Mahi Khan. After converting the woman and exploiting her sexually Rashid left her saying, he has converted a Kaafir Hindu to Islam which is equal to ‘Ek Haj ka Sawab’.

Case–6: In April 2023, Organiser reported another case from Bazpur, Uttarakhand where Liaqat posed as Samar to trap a Hindu woman Jashoda. After torturing her he made he convert to Islam. A First Information Report (number–185/2023) was registered at the Bazpur police station of the Udham Singh Nagar district. The woman belonged to the Brahmin caste.
Case–7: In May 2022, this correspondent covered a case from the Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh where a Hindu woman underwent conversion and Halala after she was trapped by a man named Mohammad Imran, who posed as Raju Jatav. The first information report (FIR) in the case (number 0/2022) was registered at a woman’s police station in MP’s Gwalior district on 23 April. The woman identified as Hemlata Joshi told me that, Raju married her at Sheetla Mata temple in Gwalior, as per Hindu rituals. “They would tell me that worshipping murtis is worthless and only Allah can show the path to Jannat,” she said.

Case–8: In June 2022, this correspondent covered a case from the Bhopal district of Madhya Pradesh. Here a woman doctor claimed that the accused, Nehal Khan posed as a Hindu to trap and sexually exploit her. She told me that, Nehal lived like a Hindu with her. He visited temples with her and followed all rituals and festivals. It was difficult to believe that he was Muslim. Nehal started forcing Priya to convert to Islam. He told her, “Convert right away. Soon when this Modi-Yogi government loses power, the Taliban will take over this country and everyone in India will convert to Islam.” Priya confronted him by saying, “How will they come to our country? How can you say this being a citizen of this country? Does this mean you support terrorism?”

Case–9: In December 2021, this correspondent covered a case from the Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Here the accused forced his pregnant Hindu woman to convert to Islam despite marrying at an Arya Samaj Temple. As per the wedding certificate, the accused Faheem Qureshi converted and became Raj Arya to marry the woman Pratibha Soni. An FIR (number 1082/2021) filed at City Kotwali police station in Sultanpur on 27 November was registered in this case. “He told me that Yogi sarkar is going after Muslim men marrying Hindu women, so it was best for both of us to marry in a temple as Hindus,” told Pratibha.
Case–10: In February 2023, a case was reported from the Raebareli district of Uttar Pradesh where one Abdul Khalid posed as a Hindu named Munna Yadav to lure a Hindu woman into a relationship with him. A First Information Report (number—56/2023) was registered at Salon police station of Raebareli district on 4 February.

Case–11: In February 2023, a Hindu woman Jaya Devi, filed a complaint against her husband Sandeep who turned out to be Zakir Ali. After three years of their marriage, Jaya has found the truth about him. The First Information Report in the case (number—41/2023) was registered at the Amroha Dehat police station on 1 February 2023. A Hindu activist associated with the case Sanskar Katyal said that Jaya told them that Zakir had his ears pierced, used to go to the temple, and would celebrate every occasion like any other Hindu, and so it was shocking for her to find that he is Muslim.
Case–12: In January 2023, a case was reported from the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh where a Dalit Hindu woman found her husband was a Muslim 11 years after their marriage. The accused was identified as Sadiq Hussain, he kept the woman in his captivity for 11 long years. A First Information Report (number—007/2023) was registered at the Cantt police station of Bareilly district on 5 January.

Case–13: A Case was reported in December 2022, where a Hindu woman accused her husband Irfan of posing as Rahul to trap her before marriage. The victim woman, Madhu Vishwakarma converted to Islam and became Simran Begum filed a FIR (number—984/2022) at the Izzatnagar police station on 29 November 2022.

Case–14: In December 2022, a case was reported from Meerut where one Muzzamil introduced himself as Shivam to trap a Hindu woman into a love relationship. The victim said they were in a relationship for two years where he sexually exploited her on the pretext of marriage. He used to wear Kalawa and visit the temple, said the victim.

Case–15: In December 2022, a case was reported from the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh where one Sonu Ansari posed as Sonu to trap a Dalit woman. As per the press note released by the police, the victim’s father in his complaint letter given to the police on 21 November 2022 said that Sonu Ansari, a resident of the railway colony area, raped his daughter on 20 November.

Case–16: In November 2022, a case was reported from the capital city of Uttar Pradesh Lucknow where Mohammad Salman posed as Shyam to trap her into a relationship and later started forcing her to convert. The police statement as available in the Hindi media said, “Accused Salman threatened the victim of killing her family members if she refused to go with him. She left home, late at night on 13 November. The family members registered a complaint on 14 November. The police traced the mobile phone of the accused and the victim and located them in Haryana”.
Case–17: In October 2022, a case was reported from the Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh where three Muslim men upon raping a Hindu woman said, this will give them a place in Jannat. A first information report (number 491/2022) was registered in the case at Tukoganj police station on 29 September 2022.
The victim’s statement in the media reads, “Afzal and Prince stayed in the room while Arbaaz and Sayyid stood outside, talking. They asked me to work according to them. I started crying. They took off my clothes. I said I was pregnant to which Afzal, laughing, said this was very common in their religious community. Sex with a Hindu woman gives them a place in paradise, he said”. His exact words were – ‘Hindu Ladki ke sath sex karlo to Jannat naseeb hoti hai’.
Case–18: In September 2022, this correspondent covered a case from the Kota district of Rajasthan. Here, Ali Hussain posed as Bunty, who worked at a mobile repair shop. The victim found the truth after, one day she found his wallet lying on the table. It had two identical identity cards with different names on them. One showed him as Bunty while the other showed him as Ali Hussain. A First Information Report (no: 371/22) was registered at the Mahaveer Nagar police station of the Kota district.

Case–19: A case was reported from the Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh where a man hide his religious identity and marital status to trap a Hindu woman and later forced her to convert to Islam. The accused Faizal Ahmed posed as Atharva, to trap the Hindu woman Seema. The man also married the woman at an Arya Samaj temple. A First Information Report (number 692/2022) was registered at Chinhat police station of Lucknow district in Uttar Pradesh on 3 September 2022.

Case–20: In June 2022, a case was reported from the Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh where a Hindu woman filed a case against one Mohammad Sohail Shah for posing as Sourav. The first information report (number 258/2022) was registered on 5 June 2022 at Kotwali Dehat police station of the Saharanpur district in UP. The victim Mamta Singh said he put a mangalsutra around her neck and vermilion in her hair claiming the marriage was conducted.

Case–21: In June 2022, a case was reported from the Harda district of Madhya Pradesh where accused Shahbaz Seth posed as Rahul Gurjar to trap the woman Durgesh Nandini Chouhan. The First Information Report (number 00/2022) was registered at Timarni police station of Harda district on 27 May 2022. It was transferred to the Sirali station the next day, and a fresh FIR (number 164/2022) was registered there on 28 May 2022. The victim told, Shahbaz said he had to fake his identity because he wasn’t sure if she would have agreed to a romantic relationship if she knew about his real identity.

Case–22: In a similar case reported back in September 2022, where an accused was convicted under the Uttar Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act. The accused was booked for concealing his religious identity to trap a minor girl in a relationship for the purpose of her conversion. He was identified as Mohammad Afzal and posed as Armaan Kohli and a Lord Shiva devotee to trap the 16-year-old girl in a relationship. The district court of Amroha sentenced Afzal to five years in prison with a fine of Rs 40,000.
Case–23: A case was reported back in 2021, from the Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh where a Hindu woman eloped with a man assuming he was Hindu while she was a minor. The man posed as Rajesh Yadav but turned out to be Abdul Mobin. An FIR (number 405/2021) was filed on November 30. On 25 December 2018, she gave birth to a son. After childbirth, Abdul’s behaviour changed for the worse. He began to beat her up over trivial matters. He prohibited her from going out of the house. He also stopped her from offering prayers as per her Hindu customs.

Case–24: A case was reported back in November 2021, where the victim, a Dalit woman said, ‘I am a victim of Love Jihad’. The woman met a man who introduced himself as Vishal Thakur but turned out to be Nawajis-bin-Shams. Following the victim’s complaint, A FIR (number 235/2021) was filed at Aliganj Police Station on 6 November.

Case–25: A case was reported back in September 2021, where a woman, a mother of three eloped with a man from Telangana assuming he was a Hindu but turned out to be a Muslim. The first information report (FIR) in the case (number 339/2021) was filed at Friends Colony police station in UP’s Etawah district on 5 September. The accused man posed as Raja Pandit, but in actuality, he was Mohammed Ameen.

Case–26: In January 2022, a case was reported from Uttar Pradesh where a Nepalese man living in India on fraud documents showing himself to be an Uttar Pradesh native, killed his wife Shiva Vishwakarma with his first wife. Shiva Vishwakarma converted to Islam and married Mohammad Yaseen eight years ago in Nepal. Yaseen was accompanied by his wife Shahar Bano in this crime. The first information report (FIR) was filed the same evening at the Para police station of Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow district (number 33/2022).
Case–27: In July 2021, a case was reported from Uttar Pradesh where one Intaak posed as ‘Aman Sharma’ and entered into sexual relations with a Hindu woman on false promises of marriage. The FIR (number 404) was filed on 2 July 2021, and names Naresh Kumar as the complainant. Police also found that he was already married when he entered into a relationship with the woman; his wife’s Aadhaar card showed her husband’s name as Vasim Ahmad.

Case–28: A per a case reported back in June 2020, from the Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh where Mohammad Waseem posed as Dinesh Rawat to trap Hindu women. When asked why he hid these details, he said he had done so to teach people like her a lesson. Based on the complaint, an FIR (number 154/2020) was filed on 6 June 2020 at Mundali Police Station. Waseem had two Adhar cards, and two Facebook IDs and lived almost like a Hindu.
Case–29: In 2020, a case was reported where, Shamshad, who initially posed as Amit Gujjar, entered into a relationship with Priya, began to live with her, but murdered her and her daughter when she became too demanding. He buried both in his own room.
Case–30: A case was reported back in December 2022, where one Anwar allegedly posed as a Hindu named Anu to befriend and later sexually exploit a Hindu woman. Anu may sound like his nickname but he did pose as a Hindu man by putting ‘tilak’ and ‘kalawa’, as per the woman. A First Information Report (number—1004/2022) on the matter was registered at the Heera Nagar police station of the Indore Urban City on 1 December 2022.
There are some cases out of hundreds where Muslim men have used tricks to pose as Hindus and convert them to Islam. There will be a hundred cases out there which never get reported. Since last month there has been a massive debate around ‘Love Jihad’ being real or fake, and whether the makers of the film, ‘Kerala Story’ should be credited for it. The cases compiled above are real-life cases that no media will ever show.
Out of the thirty cases mentioned above only one accused was convicted by a district court in Uttar Pradesh. States like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and others have a dedicated law in place to curb such crime, how about the states which are still living in denial mode, claiming there is no ‘Love Jihad’.
Haryana police deny report by YouTube channel which claimed that torn clothes of women were strewn in hills surrounding Nalhar Temple
According to the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Haryana Mamata Singh no such incident took place during the clashes as she herself was present there on the spot.
Reports by two YouTube channels claimed that a cache of women’s torn clothes has been recovered from the hills surrounding the Nalhar Shiva Temple in Nuh, and several women from nearby households have gone missing, during the Islamist violence in Nuh against Hindu devotees. The Haryana police have, however, denied these reports.
The report by ‘Leading Bharat TV’ claimed that the hills in the vicinity of the Nalhar Shiva Temple, the place that witnessed an attack by Islamists against Hindu devotees, many of whom narrowly escaped death in the face of fierce and unrelenting onslaught, had women’s torn clothes strewn around its region.
Many of the locals interviewed in the report said that several women from nearby households have gone missing since violence convulsed Nuh on July 31 and later split into other parts of Haryana, including Gurugram.
Haryana police denies report, ADGP Mamata says no such incident took place
Soon after the report surfaced, Jagran News posted a video statement of ADGP Mamata, who was present at the Nalhar Temple during the Islamist violence against Hindu devotees denies these reports.
According to the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Haryana Mamata Singh no such incident took place during the clashes as she herself was present there on the spot.
“A narrative is going on social media since yesterday that the day the devotees were stuck at Nalhar Mandir, gruesome crimes like rape occurred with a few women devotees there during this. I would like to tell you that this is false, a complete rumour,” Mamata Singh told the reporters.
She further said that strict action will be taken against such rumour-mongers. “I am saying this officially as I was present there during the entire incident. Nothing like that happened with any woman. We have already cleared that what actually happened there…Strict action will be taken against such rumour-mongers,” the ADGP said.

She also said that as many as 216 people have been arrested in connection with the violence-related incidents in the state.
“216 persons have been arrested in the state and out of these numbers, 83 are preventive arrests,” she added.
Mewat Shobha Yatra attack
On Monday (July 31), violence broke out in Haryana’s Nuh district during the ‘Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra,’ which was organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. The death toll from the clashes has now reached 5, including two personnel from the Haryana home guard. The deputy commissioner urged people to stay indoors, venture outside only for essential tasks, and disregard any circulating rumours.
Vehicles were burnt and stones pelted at the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Jalabhishek Yatra as clashes erupted between two communities in the Muslim-majority region of Mewat in Haryana.
“Religious Brajmandal Yatra” organized annually by Bajrang Dal, Islamic Jihadis pelted heavy stones, violence, arson and direct bullets from the hills on the pilgrims on the ancient “Religious Yatra” of Nallahad Shiv Temple, the centre of faith and reverence of Hindus in Nuh, Mewat. In which hundreds of vehicles were damaged and burnt to ashes,” said a statement shared by Bajrang Dal on Twitter.
Chilling testimonies of the victims have brought forth the extent of barbarity Hindus in Nuh had faced at the hands of their Islamist assailants. Abhishek Rajput, a Hindu devotee, was first shot at, then his throat was slit and his head crushed with a stone. Similarly, 4 other non-Muslims were hacked to death by Islamist mobs.

‘Kill him, I’ll handle everything’: FIR reveals how AAP leader Javed Ahmed instigated the Muslim mob to kill Pradeep Kumar during Nuh violence
"Responding to the clarion call made by Javed Ahmed, 20-25 Islamists armed with iron rods, stones, guns and other weapons rushed towards us and started thrashing us," complainant Pawan Kumar stated in the FIR.
A Bajrang Dal activist named Pradeep Kumar was the third Hindu who fell prey to Islamist violence that convulsed Haryana on July 31 following an attack on a Hindu precession in the Nuh district.
In our previous report, we detailed how Pradeep Kumar was rescued safely from the Nalhar temple, where several Hindus were hiding to save themselves from the Islamist mob, and brought to the Nuh police lines. The Islamists, however, ruthlessly killed him on the intervening night of July 31 (Monday) and August 1 (Tuesday), while he was returning from the police station.
Besides Pradeep Kumar, the unrest killed two other Hindus namely Shakti Saini and Abhishek Rajput and two Homeguards.
OpIndia has now accessed the FIR registered in the murder case of Pradeep Kumar. The FIR was filed on August 2, 2023, a day after he was killed by a murderous mob of over 200 people. The FIR was filed by Pawan Kumar, another Bajrang Dal activist who was accompanying Pradeep Kumar when he was attacked and killed.
Pawan Kumar, in his complaint named one Javed Ahmed as the prime accused. He said that the mob had launched the vicious attack on Pradeep Kumar and other Bajrang Dal members accompanying him, on Javed Ahmed’s orders. Notably, the accused Javed Ahmed is a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party.
The complaint Pawan Kumar in the FIR, the copy of which is with OpIndia, stated that on the night of July 31 at around 10.30 pm, he, Pradeep Kumar and other Bajrang Dal activists were returning home in the complainant’s Swift Dzire car when the Islamists mob launched a vicious attack on their car. His car was being followed by two cars belonging to other Bajrang Dal activists and a police van was also escorting them.
He said that when their car reached Sohna Road, the police asked the Bajrang Dal members to proceed on their own. They assured them that the police officers stationed in the Sohna area had done all required security checks and the route was clear.
They had only travelled a short distance without the police when an unfamiliar speeding Scorpio car started following them. Their car must have travelled only a kilometre or two on the Kundli–Manesar–Palwal Expressway (KMP Expressway), when, suddenly the Scorpio car intercepted them. Within seconds, from nowhere, a mob of around 150 Islamists came and started pelting stones at their car, because of which they lost control of the car and it went and hit the divider on the road.
Pawan Kumar further stated when the car stopped he was forced to get out of the car. Javed Ahmed, who was leading the mob shouted- “Kill them all, I will take care of the consequences.”
“Responding to the clarion call made by Javed Ahmed, 20-25 Islamists armed with iron rods, stones, guns and other weapons rushed towards us and started thrashing us,” Pawan Kumar stated in the FIR, adding that the mob opened the car door, dragged Pradeep Kumar out, and started to beat him as well.
The complainant further stated in the FIR that when the police saved him and were taking him to the hospital, he saw Islamists continuously thrashing Pradeep Kumar with iron rods and sticks. The police later rescued Pradeep Kumar and took him to the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi where he succumbed to his injuries.
Who is Javed Ahmed mentioned as the prime accused in the FIR
The complainant in the FIR specifically mentioned not once but many times that the prime accused behind the attack and murder of Bajrang Dal activist Pradeep Kumar was a man identified as Javed Ahmed. Since the FIR only mentioned the name of the accused, OpIndia, in its effort to try and get some more information about him, spoke to the complainant Pawan Kumar.
Pawan Kumar confirmed to OpIndia that Javed Ahmed in no other than the Aam Aadmi Party leader from the Sohna constituency in Haryana. He said that he was the one who had orchestrated the crowd and instigated them to launch a murderous attack on Pradeep Kumar and other Bajrang Dal activists.
Pawan Kumar continued, “The Islamist mob responded to his clarion call and charged at us and other defenceless Hindus present there while shouting ‘Allah hu Abar’ and ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.”
When we asked Pawan Kumar if he was certain that the AAP leader was leading the Islamists, he responded in the affirmative. He claimed that he recognises him very well since he has often seen him and his family members moving around through the lanes of Haryana’s Sohna district.
After speaking to Pawan Kumar, we tried to dig further to gather some more information about the accused Javed Ahmed. While searching, we came across a press note released by the Aam Aadmi Party, Haryana unit on August 2, 2022, which announced Javed Ahmed’s appointment as the state coordinator of AAP’s minority cell.
Notably, after Aam Aadmi Party won the Punjab elections in 2022, several ex-ministers, MLAs of Haryana and their followers joined the party. Javed Ahmed who was previously Sohna assembly’s BSP candidate also joined AAP during an event held at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headquarters in Delhi on March 14, 2022.
Meanwhile, Pradeep Kumar, a resident of the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, was an office bearer of the Bajrang Dal unit in Gurugram. Being the sole breadwinner of his family, he used to do odd jobs to support them. People associated with the Gurugram unit of Bajrang Dal said that the police will be sending the deceased’s body directly to his native village Baghpat after the autopsy is done and other legal formalities are completed.
As the religious procession came under attack in Nuh, Haryana on July 31, 2023, Hindu devotees revealed to OpIndia and several other platforms that stones were pelted at them from the rooftops, young Muslim boys and men had taken to the mountainous area and were shooting at them from the peaks, acid bottles were thrown at them and several women were harassed. During the violence, several women and children (ranging anywhere between 2000-2500) had taken shelter at the Temple and were rescued only hours later by the police.
OpIndia reported how another Bajrang Dal activist named Abhishek Rajput was shot dead in the violence that the mob unleashed against thousands of Hindu devotees who were participating in the VHP Shobha Yatra on Monday. After shooting Abhishek Rajput, Islamists slit his throat with a sharp weapon and crushed his head with stones, the extent of brutality which is normally associated with terror outfits like the Taliban.
Notably, it has been revealed about Nuh violence that its preparations were being done for 6 months. During the attack, AK-47 was fired on the people surrounding the temple premises. A 14-year-old boy was also shooting.
