Asher Brown’s parents suing school administration in Texas after suicide

After their child took his own life as a result of constant bullying,
Asher Brown’s parents have taken legal action against the school
district they feel did nothing to protect him, while asking the school
to honor his memory by providing resources for other students who are
bullied.

Brown’s parents, Amy Truong and step-father David Truong filed a
federal lawsuit against the Cy-Fair Independent School District and
administrators at Hamilton Middle School Tuesday, according to local
and national media reports.

Brown, a 13-year-old eighth grader at the middle school, was found
dead last September from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being
bullied over being small, wearing unfashionable clothing, and being
gay, autistic and Buddhist, according to reports.
