Another introduction

Hello all,

Not actually a JET type - I'm from the UK, living in Tokyo (Setagaya
area) on my gap year, and stumbled across this group on the web. I've
been here about a month; although I'm aware that Tokyo's GLBT scene is
massive and thriving, I'm only eighteen (something I didn't realise
was going to inhibit my movements until I got here) and living with a
host family that includes a five-year-old child, so my opportunities
for nights out on the town are sadly limited.

I feel bad turning my first post in this group into a plea for advice,
but - does anyone have any advice? ^^; I've approached my supervisor
(the lady who arranged my stay) with the problem, but her basic
response was "you're only eighteen, you can't *know* you're a lesbian.
Just keep it quiet".
