Hello musicians, friends, and fans.

It has felt SO good to be back together and holding rehearsals again this summer!
Not only are we rehearsing, but we have managed to get our concert schedule figured out for the rest of the year, which I wasn't entirely convinced was going to happen.  Personally, I'm thrilled.
We've been working on an entertaining pops repertoire of light classics, movie themes, and popular songs.
Without further adieu, here are the dates you need to keep on your calendar this fall.  I hope to see you there!

Event:  Sounds of Passaic, concert in the park.
When: Thursday, August 26th 7:00pm
This is a lovely evening in the park in Passaic's bandshell.  Bring your own lawn chair or blanket, maybe a picnic basket, and join us!

Event:  Belvidere Heritage Day
When:  Saturday, September 11th, 2:00pm
This is Stone Soup's oldest venue.  We've been performing at this event since the orchestra has existed.  It's a fun festival in the park with vendors,

Event:  Mount Olive Sesquicentennial Celebration
When:  Saturday, September 18th, 2:00pm
Stone Soup is helping Mt. Olive township celebrate their 150th anniversary.  Come on out!

Event:  Morristown Festival on the Green
When:  Sunday, October 3rd, 1:00pm?
This is a big festival with lots of bands, vendors, and attractions.  Stone Soup has become the "center stage" the last few years at this terrific festival.

I didn't realize that Birda was in the crowd on Thursday, but I'm so glad she was!  We miss you!
See a note from her below...

I'll take this opportunity to throw in a few comments of my own.
I thought we sounded great in Passaic, but I wish there were a few more people in the crowd (and there historically has been).  We didn't outnumber the audience, but we had to take a headcount to prove it.  I promise the rest of the season will be better turnout.
I REALLY appreciate the effort that everyone put into this show.  I know it's quite a haul on a Thursday night, so many thanks to you all for coming out.  MANY MANY thanks to those who helped so much with the load-in/load-out of all the percussion and such.  You people really grease the gears of these concerts.
The rest of our shows are all a lot closer to home.  I'm sure they'll be great.

We'll have our regular rehearsal this coming Wednesday, so I hope to see you all there.

Next show... Belvidere Heritage Day (Formerly Victorian Days) September 11th, 2:00pm.

Hi Friends,

I enjoyed your concert in Passaic last night. I’m in New Jersey visiting my daughters and grandsons for a few days. I hope it wasn’t too rude but my daughter and I were singing along to some of the pieces from our seats. Then we watched the Pirates of the Caribbean when we got home. Love that music! You sounded good! I do miss you and will try to hear you whenever I’m back in NJ.

Stay well,

Birda Ferguson
