Hello all,
This email is being sent to the whole orchestra, but is particularly aimed at a few of our student members who are graduating high school this year.
I know we were completely shut down in 2020, but we're hoping to be back in at least some capacity in 2021. I want to keep the scholarship program going, because COVID certainly wasn't these students' fault.
To be eligible, you must be a Graduating high school senior who has been accepted at a two- or four-year accredited college or university, and have been an active member of Stone Soup Symphony for a minimum of two years.
In regards to the 2+ year requirement, I'm giving a "pass" for 2020 to those who were active with us in 2019. The argument is that our graduating students successfully attended every event that we held in 2020. That number of events just happened to be zero.
Due to the orchestra getting a bit of a late start this year, the application deadline has been pushed back to May 19th, 2021 instead of the April 14th indicated in the application form. That said, the sooner we get these back, the sooner we can process them, and it's just good for everyone if you don't wait for the deadline.
If you have any problems with the application form, reach out to me for assistance.
