Hello All,
This note is primarily aimed at inviting our string players back to sectionals, BUT FIRST...
Save the Date.... I am TRYING to get a rehearsal space established to begin rehearsals on May 19th, 2021.
It will HOPEFULLY be in our usual space at the 1st Presbyterian Chapel. If I can't make that happen, I will attempt to secure an alternate location, but we want to get started up again.
I'm still finalizing details, but in the spirit of "better safe than sorry" there will likely be a crazy amount of COVID-Mitigation measures in place at first. These will likely scale back a bit as things improve and we get the hang of it. DETAILS TO FOLLOW.
Ok.. non-strings can stop reading now. Strings, please read...
The Stone Soup Strings have begun meeting again.
I apologize for the short notice (I've been terrible about sorting through my email) but we all wanted to share the info below.
All string players are invited to join tonight at 7pm until 8:30.
Please print and bring the attached Handel parts with you.
Please wear a mask.
Bring your own stand, stand light, and folding chair.
It was going to be a limit to 10 people, but it should be lovely weather tonight, so fitting everyone in the garage won't be a problem.
Please read the email below for more details.

Hello String Players,
Attached are pdf files containing the special music for this week. The music is from Handel's Water Music but you will note that page 1 of both the Air and Bourree are revision 1. The Air has been updated to show the sixteenth notes following the dotted eights as Staccato as we discussed last week. Page 1 of the Bourree has been updated to show a repeat following measure 8 for all parts, not just the first violins.
Please print out this music for Wed. night as we will not be able to print out copies from Joan's garage.
Also, per CDC protocol we will be wearing masks. I am bringing some Optix 55 Fog Gone for anyone who has a fogging problem.
Regards,
Walt
(Rob, please send out to everyone so we don't miss anyone. Thanks.)
Good Evening, String Players.
SS Strings will meet this Wednesday, April 28th, from 7-8:30 PM at Joan Kiedes' garage. Her address is 503 Tulsa Court in Hackettstown. If you need to reach Joan, her cell number is (908)887-2995.
Space is limited to 10, so please let me know that you will be attending. Space is tight in a one car garage. If the weather is nice, we can spill out into the driveway.
Please respond to this email to let me know if you will be attending. You can also text me at (908)391-6312. If you find that you cannot attend after responding that you will be there, please text or email me to let me know that. Then we can make a spot available for someone else. Hackettstown is more centrally located, so we hope that many players may be able to attend. MASKS ARE STRONGLY SUGGESTED!
Walt Campbell will email the pieces on which we will work. Please print your music and bring a stand, stand light, and chair.
Repertoire:
The Sound of Music Medley
The Masquerade Waltz
2 Handel pieces from last week (emailed by Walt)
You can print The Sound of Music and Masquerade Waltz by going to the orchestra website and accessing the repertoire tab.
Please do one more thing before you come. Kathy has asked that we look at the following passages in Pirates:
Violin 2 triplets
Violas triplets
Violin 1 high note intonation at Measure 75
All instruments intonation from Measures 75-96
I hope to see many of you on Wednesday.
Debbie
P.S. If you have received this email and no longer wish to be on the group list, that is not a problem. Just respond and let me know that.
