Hello Family, Friends, and Fans,
Sunday's Concert
First of all, I want to thank and congratulate each of you for putting on an excellent holiday concert on Sunday. It was very well received by the audience as well as the 79 live viewers we had at home. Ed and I are both proud of what we presented together, and I hope you are as well. All things considered, I'm thrilled that we managed to put on a live concert at all.
There were apparently some technical glitches with the livestream and some people had trouble viewing after intermission. There were definitely some lessons learned with this 1st attempt at a livestream, but I think it went really well overall, and we'll definitely be doing it again. My apologies to anyone who had trouble.
For those who missed the show, couldn't connect to the stream, or just want to relive the magic,
I've put a recording of the whole concert onto our YouTube channel. Click here to watch!
Another year over...
To everyone who has participated or contributed to Stone Soup's success this year, a heartfelt thank you goes out. While the pandemic prevented us from putting on our spring show, we came back in full-force this fall. It's been wonderful making music together and bringing it to our community. I'm looking forward to a terrific 2022.
TO OUR MUSICIANS: WE ARE ON HIATUS FOR THE HOLIDAYS. OUR NEXT REHEARSAL IS JANUARY 5th 2022.
A new one just begun...
For anyone wanting to take a peek at next season's repertoire, we've got a starting point (subject to change). It leans rather Russian, but I'm a big fan of Russian composers and I hope you are too.
- Swan Lake – Tchaikovsky
- Night on Bald Mountain – Mussorgsky
- Dance of the Knights – Prokofiev
- Finlandia – Sibelius
- Sleeping Beauty Waltz – Tchaikovsky
- Polovetsian Dances – Borodin
- Gold and Silver Waltz – Franz Lehár
- Bassoon Concerto
Our tentative date for the Spring concert is June 4th.
Here's wishing you and yours a joyous holiday season, and I look forward to doing it all again next year. See you then!
