So what is the next step? I know I need to create a character. I am
still working on some ideas and fleshing out a back story. I look
forward to seeing you all online very soon. Thanks in advance for the
help!
Travis
We have a good number of dispossed nobles, so finding a different
backstory will add some variety :-D

Something like 8str, 14dex, 14con, 8int, 8wis, 17cha is a good
starting point. 9str, 14dex, 14con, 10int, 8wis, 16cha is another
good set. The latter gives you another strength for carrying
capacity, and 2 more int for another skill point/level.
As far as feats go, there's a lot you can do. As a human, you'll have
2. Eschew Materials is a good one. Decent second choices would be
Improved Initiative (hey, you're squishy, you want to react and get
out of the way before they can attack), Martial Weapon Proficiency (if
you want a good melee weapon), Rapid Reload (lets you reload a
crossbow quicker, so you can fire more often), Spell Focus or Spell
Penetration.
Another feat alternative would be point blank shot and precise shot.
That would let you not hit your teammates with your spells, in the
middle of combat.
For skills, sorcerers are pretty limited. Concentration, Knowledge:
Arcana, and Spellcraft are great choices. Bluff is another good one
if you have extra.
As for abilities, again depends on the character you want to play, but
generally importance goes Cha->Dex->Con
So for 25-PB (good/extreme)
STR: 8 / 7
DEX: 14 / 14
CON: 14 / 10
INT: 9 / 8
WIS: 10 / 10
CHA: 16 /18
as for feats, depends on what spells you'll be casting, which again
depends on your character choice:
a blaster should have Point Blank and Precise to start
Spell Focus and Greater Spell focus are always useful
Metamagic aren't that good in the beginning.
Item creation (i've never used) but if you're a crafter, perhaps
Skills: see above
