Alright, so what happened after I left? Gold? XP?

Thanks,
Bill

XP and loot will only be awarded if Shaun does not return or if I he
approves of the mission I sent you all on. If he does not return we
will have to find somewhere new to post so everyone can join.
Probably move and make a game under Myth-weavers for post game wrapup.

Why would Shaun not return? I thought that he was still available for
weekends. Or has he gone AWOL or something?

Well he has not posted here in 2 days now :-( I hope he does return,
that will give us access to the wiki and the use of these forums. But
people often disappear online for no clear reason. If he does not
return by Sunday and everyone wishes I will attempt to do something to
continue the game (unless you all feel I am just an awful GM) of
course never with 8 people again...

Good point, I don't see Shaun's Email on the Group Membership site.
The problem of course now is that the Wiki is still under Shaun's
control, and new members can't have access to it, unless he shows up
again and reallows it. A solution cold be to set up a new Stonereach
wiki. This Google Group though appears salvageable since I am now
group manager, I'll add you as one too. It's always best to have
control of a site in the hands of multiple people.

Oh, you're Gming was great Arkaris. 8 or more people is very
possible, it just takes some practice by the DM and the players.

As stated on other posts I will be leaving to see my fiance's family
this weekend, they do not have internet, so I will be gone from Friday
afternoon till Sunday evening.

My best suggestion is to take the information from the wiki and create
a game on myth-weavers. We can also take care of post game
information there. Have a dispersal of information, as most people
have created their character sheets on that site, almost all of us
have an account there.

Thank you for the kind words Bill and Altius.

As for xp and loot I will gather that information tonight and post it
here.

Akaris,

You are the head DM, if you wanna move the campaign away from the wiki and into a forum format, it's perfectly ok to do that.  Just remember, if a post needs to be edited, only your account can edit it, unlike a Wiki.

Whatever you wanna do though, go ahead and do it, you are in charge now.

Sincerely,
Bill

PS:  Perhaps it's time to schedule the next game?

Like I said the next game will be next week sometimes. I can probably
make myself available Tuesday evening. I will write up a story and
fully flesh out the city this weekend at the soon to be in-laws. I
will write up all major buildings with descriptions and be ready to
post them on the wiki. Since I was given mod privs over the wiki I
will keep the game here. This is a fine format I was just worried
about us not being able to have admin privs.

Everyone except Conrad and Zeke receive 750 xp
Conrad and Zeke receives 650 xp.

The party returns to the town, thanks to the packmule:
1 set of small half plate (good quality) (the town confisicates it)
11 small spears (poor quality)
3 small short swords (poor quality)
1 small morningstar
3 regular daggers
4 sets of small leather armor (ruined)

Everything else is ruined and of no value.

Each party member gets 10 gold from the city for murdering innocent
goblins. Everyone recieves an additional 25 gold for items
confiscated by the city and items sold.

The goblin gave up good information about the location of a cave to
access the springs' source, however he is no longer in this world.
The mayor seems to have no regrets over the creatures demise.

Anything that anyone wishes to get accomplished now is the time to do
it.

I will be double checking character sheets and from now on only
characters who have their sheets on the wiki will be accepted to the
games. I am not requesting stats, like Bill and Conrad have, but
something like Serrenade has is perfectly fine. I will be trying to
sort out backgrounds this weekend and flesh out a story in my head as
to what is happening up north, however, no promises this will be on
the wiki by next week.

also i belive that lvls me up. One question on skill points. How many
can I put into skills at one time?

Arkaris

You can only have your level +3 ranks in any skill. So at first level
you can have a maximum of 4 ranks in a skill, at level 2 5 ranks, 3 6,
ect.

It should level anyone who was in the first adventure.

I have no problem with anyone taking any of the items from the errr...
treasure we got. I should be able to get a light crossbow and some
ammo for it with the money the town gave us though.

Arkaris

You can purchase a light crossbow from the town militia's storehouse.
It is in good quality, but easily noticed it has not been used in
years. The price is the same as in the PHB.

If we sell somthing that we have, say a sheild, do we get 1/2 price
for what we paid or full price? Say, Light Steel Sheild, 9gp Regulary,
would it sell for 9 or 4.5? (DMG, I think says Half, but I also have
scene where its only like 10%(9s) or 20%(18s) return.)

Arkaris

In this part of the world since it is underdeveloped a small steel
shield would basically be sold as scrap and turned in to something of
actual use. Just selling it to the blacksmith would be 10%, selling
it to a guard you might be able to get more, maybe even half. To sell
to a guard you will need a successful gather information and diplomacy
check, no matter what the results you then will have to sell it to the
guard.

Altius8

I too wish to purchase a light crossbow along with 30 bolts. If
possible I would like to take it to a weaponsmith and have it
serviced. (since they look like they havent been used in quite
sometime.) Is that possible? Whats the cost of the weaponsmithing, So
I may subtract it from my gold.

Arkaris

There is no weaponsmith in Stonereach. There is one blacksmith (whose
shop I will have posted Monday) but his shop is little more than a
kitchen and his skill is confined mainly to tools. The crossbow will
work fine in game terms, the fact it was not used in years is simply
fluff.

What would be the cost of say "Spare Strings" for Bows and Crossbows.
Just in case there is a misshap with those weapons.

I think if Arkaris is wanting to run a gritty setting where not
everything can be bought, then there's a need to set up stores and
what can be bought in the wiki.

mostly I am just looking for a lance, a horse and something to charge
at.

I think the post ,difining what the town had and dosen't have, will
help us fiqure out what we need to do.This is where the game gets
intresting, us trying to 'rear'(think that is the term) animals into
mount and other companions.

It would be an impossible task to list everything that could be
bought, and on a whim I might declare something as not available. I
have completed the setting, buildings in Stonereach, and the 5
northern nations and a general outline of each one. I still need to
give some history.

Spare strings can be purchased, 10 for a copper.

A short sword can be purchased from one of the militia camps at
regular price.

Not that I wish to sell my Sheild, but how would you like me to do
such rolls? I mean, do a dice roller and have them sent to your email,
or over aim(chat)?

Bill is correct I do want to set up a gameworld where not everything
is readily available. Expect to have to order things, so characters
without outside contacts will be helpful in shipping in needed
supplies/items.

Bow strings are 1 copper per 10.

A short sword can be purchased from one of the militias at base price
+3 gold coins (sorry I do not have my manual with me to look up the
price).

Sorry I didn't know how to flip forward in the post count to see these
new posts.

Die rolls can be made before any game, just show up a few mins early.
You can have another player make the rolls for you, but the same
person must make both rolls.

After talking it over with the girl the best day is Wednesday (as she
is going to want to go on a cleaning spree tomorrow after work... yea
right... we'll see how lazy she is). So I will be running a necro
goblin game on Wednesday. So be prepared to deal with metal armor. I
should be on around 6:30 Pacific and we will attempt to get started on
or before 9:30.

If players are going to be late or close to "on time" please let me
know ahead of time and I will work with you. If players do not give
me a heads up, and show up late, I will not work them in to the game.
So please sign up before hand if you are interested in playing.

There will be a game on Saturday as well, time will be determined by
player demand.

Well I'll be there on Wednesday, I just need to figure out whether I'm
going to get up early or stay up late... Probably get up early I
think. So I'll probably sign on half an hour before kick off is there
anything I can do to facilitate Relf'd entry to the group before hand,
etc.? As his background has it he is trying to catalogue the local
flora and fauna so he's very eager to get out and see the sights -
goblins are fauna to afterall.

On the subject of the wizard's guildhall - where I am hoping to have
Relf stay if there are no objections - I was thinking about fleshing
it out for the wiki. Is that okay? And if it is what sort of numbers
and levels are we looking for? My own thoughts are that Stonereach
could serve as a punishment posting for the lazy, disenfranchised,
disagreeable, and in some cases plain inept. I would probably say
five wizards - excluding PCs - with a level spread from 1st to 5th.
Maybe one wizard with each craft feat up to magical arms and armor -
this could serve as quest fodder, "Why should I set aside my valuable
research time to help you boy? Well as it happens I have need of a
certain rare ingredient and if you retrieve it for me...".

I should be able to make it, and this time since I won't be late I'll
probably bring my mule as well. Since Traispe failed me the otherday I
have to re-enter all my charcter stuff, so if the room is up early
expect me to be in it.

Stonereach's current militia are actually some of the best peasant
soldiers the Dermasne Confederation could offer. There is only 1
knight among the bunch and he does feel this is a waste of his great
and wonderful talents, however meager they actually are. The
Confederation includes all 5 major provinces and then the Alatian
empire sent several of their own troops as well, who are highly
trained.

The only wizards that are in Stonereach are those that have come to
study the area. They are few and of varying levels of skills. The
priest in the Church of Pelor is quiet skilled though. The wizards
are not present to craft items for the PCs. Do not expect them to be
helpful unless you can bring something that interests them. They do
not assign quests, but they might as the mayor to send you all out
after materials. We also still need someone to fork up the money to
ID the ring that was found in the first quest.

I apologize David, I probably translated it from PST to CST (I live in
Alabama). I am looking to start the game at 9:30 CST, 7:30 PST.
Sorry for the mixup.

Not a problem, I might need some time during the game to make the
drive home, depending on what the girl wants, I will try and leave and
be home before 7 PST, 9 CST.
