An Annoyed Request

Hey guys:

I didn't foresee this being the case, and honestly I wouldn't have
undertaken this project if I had realized it would be so, but I'm glad
that I did and that we're where we are with it.

Basically, over this past weekend I realized that there were a lot of
other dynamic forces moving into place to affect my schedule over the
coming month or two that I hadn't foreseen, and it will make it next
to impossible for me to schedule a game during a weekday before about
11pm my time.

I realize that is prohibitively late for most of you, coming in large
part from the eastern parts of the US as you do and having day jobs
(like I do, myself).

That being said, I want to recruit one of you to be a weekday GM and I
will run a session every Saturday as long as there is interest. The
position would only require running one session per week (and
honestly, I'd like to only do one session on a weekday/evening and one
on the weekend per week, to keep from everything going a little
haywire with planning).

This is a pain in the butt for all involved, but it will have a number
of benefits, if a good person can be found:

-Evening sessions will take place at a more reasonable time for those
not in my timezone/greater flexibility.
-Variety of GM style is always fun.
-Can consistently have more sessions than if I were running them all.
-Better material when you've got two GMs brainstorming and
collaborating instead of just one.

I realize this is a big request, but I also realize that a number of
you would jump at this opportunity. Here are a few caveats:

-I will pick only one person to fill the spot.
-Because of access to sensitive material, the GM selected can still
run a character in the weekend spot, but mainly as a background
character story-wise. I would love to have that person involved with
roleplaying, etc., but...well, if you're the successful candidate
you'll realize why.

UNFORTUNATELY, and this is the kicker, this person would start
tomorrow night as this request comes up as I realize that my time on
the weeknights is largely no longer my own until a certain hour. Sad
but true. We have two days to confer and go over the necessary
material if folks make their interest known soon and we can get into
touch.

Thanks, and again I apologize. I am really looking forward to weekend
sessions with you guys and watching the events and discussions from
other expeditions as they take place!

Why not just allow us to run our own story line with our places to
venture? Just run two story lines. Give the second story a goal and
let us go with it. With our own places of interest for the players to
explore?

I hesitantly throw my hat into the ring, as if you always run Saturday
campaigns I will most likely never be there, and therefore never see
how you DM. Other than that I would always like to work on my DMing
and I like story telling.

My only thing Is who ever DM's I would like for them to remain in the
same time Zone as our weekend DM, shaun. Reason being, is that cause
of the time zone diffrence it allows me to be able to play on the
weekday without schedule complications. I already have two other games
I'm involved in, both in the est time zone, which I have to make
special arrangements just to be able to attend. Really like the cocept
of this game, and would like to play; but too drastic of a change
would force me out.

That is a big bonus if I were accepted as the weekday DM. I am EST
timezone but, I have the most flexible schedule of probably anyone
here as I am usually awake from noon to 5am anyway. Just something to
think about.

I'd just like to say that if a DM can be found for tomorrow night,
great, but it would be better to delay that session rather than make a
hasty decision that the parties involved might regret later. Of
course, if both parties are willing, sure, and confident in the
decision, then by all means if a DM can be found for tomorrow, Great.

I agree. No need to rush another adventure. If we need to wait until
we find a suitable back up DM thats cool with me.

If we get no word I will run a game to my own area, that will award 0
xp, 0 items, and garner no new information for the game in general.
If Shaun wishes to allow xp to be awarded or for it to advance the
game so be it. It will be a requested adventure so nothing about
going to the ruins or anything previously suggested will be offered.
It will be handed out by the mayor. Like I said before there will be
nothing rewarded for the adventure unless Shaun says so, it will
basically be for giggles. I will create the room about 8 central
time, 6 pacific (after American idiot... stupid girlfriend).

Just a heads up the game room will be created about 8 cst/6 pst, but I
will probably need a few mins to draw up some information. so we
won't start play until the 7:30 pst time slot.
