I understand that there are character sheets available within OpenRPG,
but the links given to these sheets appear to be out of date. Can
anyone tell me where to find such a sheet and if it is necessary to do
so? I've tried here where OpenRPG directed me, but clearly it's out
of date and the 3.5 sheets are unavailable to download.

If your trying to join, use Mythweavers or the otherone bewlow it. As
for the sheet inside Openrpg, its actualy a tool. Off to the side you
have a few buttons, inside one i think is tools and generate 3.5
chacter sheet. that allows you to create your sheet on their system,
so its easier refrencing durring the game.

Here are a whole host of downloadable character sheets.
http://openrpg.wrathof.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=20

Save them to a file you can find. Open RPG, and in the upper left
hand corner under on the Game Tree, right click and insert the file
you just downloaded. Most of these sheets are automated and have
rollers that make rolling simple. I have always just typed in my
rolls, I find it easier than sheets, but most people disagree with
me. Whatever character sheet you choose to use, please make sure it
sends an entire line such as if you are making a spot check, it sends
to the chat room "Spot: [1d20+4]" Not simply a roll without any
indication of what the roll was for. It might be suitable for people
to add every single bonus to a roll you get, last game people were
questioning the rolls, so spell it out if possible, so the game does
not get slowed by 20 questions of "5?" So if you are a level 1
fighter with a STR mod of 3 and trained with a longsword, write out
[1d20+1+3+1] so people can figure it out. This is not a banable
offense or even something I will enforce, it just prevents everyone
(even me) from questioning the numbers.

That's actually where OpenRPG directed me, but when I try to download
the sheets I receive the following message, "Warning: copy(./downloads/
41399-BasicCharSheet.xml) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: No
such file or directory in /downloads.php on line 704
ERROR: File not found." From the forums it appears that I am not the
only one to do so, and I got the impression that the files were lost
in an upgrade or move - don't quote me on that.

I found the basic sheet in the tools section, but I think I'd simply
prefer to do my rolls without reference to a sheet. For the rest I
think I can manage Hit: [1d20+1+1] Damage: [1d8+1] handily enough.

Thanks fellas.

Never knew those sheets were deleted. That's interesting, I will see
if I cannot find some other sheets online, I might have to ask Mini
over at Mayhem if he has any.

Seems a shame they are gone, but I'm not too worried about it. I get
the impression that they would be more useful at higher levels, but
even then i think I might simply prefer the D.I.Y approach.

On a different note I have the game time pegged as 7:30pm PST which
would be 3:30am GMT - sound right?

Well just so happens I've been working on my own OpenRPG character
sheet. When I have it completed I will share with anyone who wants
it. There will be a tab that you can use preset all of your things
that require a die roll (i.e. combat, saves, skill checks etc.) This
should help speed things up in combat.
