Dear SU member,
Please support the proposed portico and modification to the front entrance by sending the letter below to Mr. Dennis Gentilin at
dgen...@bcps.org. The new entrance will provide protection from inclement weather and improve access to the building. BCPS needs our support to make the design a reality!
The deadline to email your letter is this Thursday 5/17/2012.
Please take a look at the design plan on page 32 or on page 7.

dgen...@bcps.org Dear Mr. Gentilin,
Thank you for tackling the challenges of renovating and expanding Stoneleigh Elementary School. I am a parent of (enter number here) children who are currently enrolled in the Stoneleigh Elementary School. (Enter number here) of which will directly benefit from this renovation project.
As a community stakeholder, you have my support in regard to the proposal to add a weather protective exterior portico to the existing building. In addition, I agree that the modifications to the front doors will provide children with improved flow in and out of the building and better security alleviating the need to utilize the adjacent stair doors.
The mitigation proposal to provide an interpretive display in the front lobby of the school seems appropriate in keeping with the Maryland Historic Trust’s Department of Interior’s Standards for Additions to Historic Structures.
The long hours you have put into this school project are greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing the new schoolhouse interior and facade in 2014.
Sincerely,
