Contact Gemma Dickson, the co-ordinator for Mt Wellington area <g.dic...@gmail.com> if you want to help out!

I've just booked Olivia & me & our black labrador Snoopy in for Sunday late morning to do a stint of 'rattling the bucket' to collect for SPCA outside Placemakers on Lunn Ave this weekend.

Gemma told me: "Sunday would be great because the roster is pretty empty then...We can collect with pets at either Placemakers on Lunn Ave or the Ellerslie shops. I don't have anyone at Placemakers all of sunday because of people having to cancel so anytime on Sunday would be great. Just let me know what time you are wanting to collect.

If you were wanting to do more than one shift of 2 hours over one or two days then let me know also, but no pressure obviously, especially with a dog and a 5 year old!
Thanks,
Gemma"

They urgently need collectors for the SPCA Annual Street Appeal, 8-10 November.

A couple of hours of your time could make a bucketload of difference to animals throughout Auckland.

The Annual Street Appeal is a great way to raise money for the SPCA as well as increasing awareness of the charity within your community. It's also an opportunity for you to have fun with family and friends whilst supporting a great cause. You can volunteer for as little as two hours or as much as three days, in an area that is convenient for you.

This year we want to get 2000 volunteers out onto the streets of Auckland with their buckets in the hope of raising $200,000 to help care for Auckland’s unwanted and abused animals.  We would love to see as many collectors inside malls, outside grocery stores, or standing on busy street corners as possible.
